This is the Rope to Buy to Replace Your Cat's Scratching Post Rope.
I was so surprised how great this turned out. I didn't want to use hot glue to keep the rope in place on the postand I didn't have to.I made sure the rope was completely unraveled and tangle free.I started at the bottom of post and wound it around the wooden post as tight as I could get it. At first, I thought I would run out of rope, but, it soon started making its way to the top. We ended up with 10'-15' extra.CON: It does have an oily, gasoline-type smell to it. I read that someone else experienced this, too. The smell has slowly faded. My cats don't seem to be bothered by the smell when they are running and jumping to the top while playing. They love their scratching post. I highly recommend this brand, this thickness size, and this length. I was able to get this done by myself with no trouble.

Use for massive feral cat scratchig post.
It's been fantastic for outdoor use, will loosen a bit when wet, and tighten when dry. Relentless cat claws on it hasn't frayed it yet, and this is going on a year after purchase.. highly recommended for scratching posts.

Perfect replacement for our cat stand
We needed to replace the cord wrapped around our handmade cat stand for two new kittens, and while it was larger than the originally installed cord, it’s been holding up to every attack, and we have enough to re-cord it twice again.

Smells like Creosote don't buy to recover a cat scratching post
I purchased to recover my cat's scratching post. The rope smelled like petrol or creosote. I thought it might be the packaging. After two days in the garage, it still smelled. I soaked it in the sink with laundry soap for 24-hours, yes, it smells the same, awful. I rinsed and dried outside in the sun, it still stinks. My cat isn't going anywhere near this thing. Will repurpose for another project.

DO NOT ASSUME IT IS SAFE: REEKS OF CHEMICALS
I cannot use this for my pets as it is clearly saturated with something petroleum-based. 1 star rating while it soaks overnight. It is advertised as safe for pets, but no responsible owner would use this product without trying to clean it first. Another customer complained about the same and 2 others ound it helpful. At best, this is false advertising. Boo / hiss. I will return it if washing it does nothing.

Brush your teeth as part of your daily routine, that's what's best to know
I like that I bought something and the thing that I bought came to me. It's going to be used to make scratching posts of unusual designs. Why can't I just leave it at five stars? Why do I have to write a review? This could be simplified.
