Great tool

So useful with any type of intricate work. Careful handling, patience and a light touch are essential to avoid breaking any tools. The kit has pretty much everything to start working, polished my motorcycle exhaust manifold, cut pipes, plastic, tiles, screws and cut numerous holes in plastic, wood and metal. With two batteries its working time is extended, charging one while using the other. Highly recommend as you find uses more than what you expected.

Extremely versatile tool that has many uses. Everyone should have one. Very nice case that it comes in too. Also no wires thanks to it being battery powered which makes it so easy and much safer to use. Still packs a punch too. You might think that a battery operated tool wouldn't be anywhere near as powerful as mains operated. But don't be fooled. This tool can really cut the mustard

i don't know why i didn't buy one of these years ago, i have always had corded dremels but this is way easier, i just got the basic set as i have a million accessories already. using it with the right angled head today and did a great job. just take that light thing off the front, its pretty useless and gets in the way, putting the batteries in the light was not straightforward and i could see many folk lose the head! not well designed and a bit of a gimmick. the only thing i thought could be improved is the speed slider, it feels very loose with almost no resistance, i thought i had a dodgy one but no that is the way they are. i tried the handle accessory and it did hold it but there was a bit of flexing, could do with a few more threads gripping it on. overall i would buy another and recommend it.

Very pleased so far with the 8220, seems powerful enough for standard use. For extended jobs I'd probably stick with a 3000. Going from 300/3000, I find the separate on-off switch from speed selection is very nice too. I went for the 45 piece kit partly because of a deal, partly because it included the LED light, and I couldn't source this on its own anywhere. Aaaaand... its utter crap. A really bad design, reminds me of how things used to be designed in the pre-internet days before reviews encouraged 'ease of use' improvements. This LED light is bad, and the main reason for my review. It's held together by a single screw held in by a washer. If this screw is tight, the on-off switch is often too stiff to move. If the screw isn't too tight the light sometimes goes off when the dremel is in use, or if the end cap is tight. The on-off switch is activated by a tatty blue plastic slider that latches roughly onto a toggle switch, and is quite hard to line up when reassembling. When unscrewing the cover (required to replace batteries) the screw pushes the main light away from the cover, leaving the screw extended in the cover. It should be unwound (as picture) to stand any chance of lining the slider up with the switch and switch hole. The battery compartment is just the gap between the board and a contact, and I think it is this which lets one battery move when the screw is too tight and makes the light fail. There is nothing to hold the batteries in place except the cover that seems to flex sometimes. The whole design is just tenth rate. The other tools are well known to me and mostly work very well, loses a star for the horrendous light.

Purchased to file dogs claws - this is great if you have several dogs and you can file their claws rather than cut. Quick to use, just need to get dog used to noise so build up gradually, place lots of treats to distract. Lot's of different sizes attachments. Also good for general DIY. Put cover on floor to collect debris.

This was bought to replace my old corded Dremel which is over 20 years old, but still works fine, this new cordless version is excellent with two battery packs you can keep going for ages, so far I've sanded all the old paint off the bathroom door, the wife was amazed that it removed it back to the wood, and I'm using the straight edge guide to cut bathroom wall panels, to fit in narrow spaces to finish off the job, so far I'm delighted with the product, worth every penny!
