This stuff really works
This stuff ROCKS. I wish I had found it years ago! My eyes feel better than they have in years after just a few weeks of using this gel. I have MGD and have tried almost everything there is-- warm compresses, fish oils, countless eye drops and ointments, Lipiflow, punctual plugs, 4 sessions of IPL-- you name it, I've probably tried it. So when I heard about dry eye patients putting honey in their eyes I thought to myself, "that's kinda weird but hey, what do I have to lose?" And let me tell you, I'm so glad I did. The sore, dry, uncomfortable burning sensation in my eyes has gone way down since using this product. I have also noticed a reduction in redness. I don't totally understand how or why it works, but it does, and I'm so happy! It's not a cure for dry eye but it manages the symptoms and makes my days much more enjoyable. The only downside for me is the application process. It burns like crazy. Like it's really uncomfortable. But I'm willing to go through 30 seconds of pain for hours and hours of relief. I put a tiny pea-sized amount of the gel on the end of a q-tip, pull my lower eyelid down, apply it to the inside of the lid, and immediately close my eyes. Your eyes will be red and watery for a few minutes but that will pass. I use the gel 2-3 times a day.I would say if you're on the fence, try it! The shipping is expensive for me (I live in the US) but it's totally worth it-- plus, when I think about all the money I've spent on other treatments that didn't work this stuff is a bargain.

Made my dry eyes worse
I had high hopes for this manuka honey eye gel after reading so many rave reviews, but those hopes were quickly dashed. I used the gel for two days and a week later my eyes are still burning worse and my vision is still blurry. The gel is very thick and sticky and kind of hard to apply. I applied the tiniest drop to the corner of my eye and just let it slowly make it's way in. Where it first contacted my eyes the eyeball became very bloodshot and still is a week later. The second it touched my eye it started to burn, pretty intensely but not intolerable. The burning lasted for about a minute. At the same time my eyes began to tear profusely. This lasted as long as the burning. After the intense burning and tearing stopped I was left with even drier eyes than before I applied the gel. They feel sticker, grittier, drier, and burn more than they ever have even still a week later.

TIPS!!
here’s some tips for manuka honey gel ( that i love very much )- it burns like a bitch and that’s normal! you will feel like you’re dying- it is thick and applying in a mirror is the best way to do it. make sure to read instructions- it should make dry eyes BETTER and sometimes people say they get worse before they get better actually.- this is a game changer for severe dry eyes. stick with it for 6+ weeks.- you can use it up to 3 times a day if you like it- if your eyes feel sticky or something, apply artificial tears before this and use it as a shield

GAME CHANGER for dry eyes
I was initially pretty skeptical about this, but I read recent clinical research papers showing its effectiveness and decide to give it a try. And I'm so glad I did, because it is a GAME CHANGER for chronically dry eyes. It does sting quite a bit and make my eyes red once applied, but it goes away within seconds-minutes and then gives me instant relief, which lasts for a few hours. Not only it makes my eyes less irritated, I also feel like it stimulates production of my natural tears. I heard prolonged use makes it even more effective, so looking forward to see how it does on the long run. It is a bit pricey, but it lasted me at least two months and it's pretty in-line with traditional lubricant preservative-free high-performance eye drops.

dry eye temporary solution
Seems to helping my eyes retain moisture but burns like heck for 15-20 seconds when you first put the gel in my eye. I hope that is not causing other damage. This product has helped my eyes the best out of everything else I've tried.

Works great … but burns for a bit !
Manuka honey eye drops have really helped my acute ocular eye pressure and chronic dry eyes! If you deal with either issue . You know the pain and discomfort you have to deal with. When I placed the gel in my eye it BURNED a bit longer than the other OTC 5% hypertonic drops or gel. If you can get over the stinging / burning . You’re going to love this eye gel ! It’s not really thick , yet not really thin. It’s just right . I’ve bought both the gel at night and the drops durning the day . It’s like a miracle in a tube. This stuff is expensive…. But AMAZING! Well worth every penny spent !

Caused my wife’s dry eye to burn
While the product may work for others, it proved to be too much for my wife. It caused a lot of discomfort and irritation and burning sensation when applied. The gel that it comes in when placed on the tip of a Q-tip was easier to apply on the inner tips of the eyes however, it proved to be too much.We did return it today.
