Never used hard wax before but very straightforward, dries quite quickly and gives a nice finish after two or three coats.

Perfect finish!
Absolutely stunning finish on this elm Ercol table and chairs I have finished restoring. Orbital and hand sanded all of the wood from 80 up to 600 grit before applying danish oil for slight colouration and finally hard wax oil numerous days after danish oil had settled fully. Three coats of hard wax oil has rendered the wood completely water resistant and water beads on the table without any absorption. The finish is really subtle, retaining all of the qualities of the raw wood finish (grain still very much present to touch) whilst providing a nice protective barrier. Apply with gloves so you don’t get sticky fingers. Honestly couldn’t have imagined a better finish and will use this on all restoration projects in the future!

Flipping superb!!!
I’ve been watching Gilboy’s YouTube vids for a while as I have a Hans Olsen Roundette table in very bad condition and a G-Plan Brasillica sideboard also in terrible condition. There were water marks, oil stains, candle wax and felt tip all over them. After sanding, Oxalic Acid the stains and neutralising it, I open the hard wax, diluted with 10% natural turpentine as it was bare, unvarnished wood. I am overjoyed with the finish so far. Everything has had one coat and as soon as it’s dry I’ll sand and apply the rose gold wax. My only gripe is…. I didn’t take any before photos!!! Look out for my starter kit review, the after photos will be on there. Smells pretty good too!! Very, very happy!! This is a fabulous product!!
