Robin Hood Character Mug

Twelve O'Clock High has been one of my favorite movies since my days as an Ensign in the US Navy, where they showed it as a way of presenting some of the challenges of, and generating discussion points on, leadership.The Robin Hood Mug is central to the plot of the movie. Every time the squadron is going out on a mission the following day, the Ground Exec (Harvey Stovall, played touchingly by Dean Jagger, who won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in this role) would enter the officer's club, and turn the mug sitting on the fireplace mantel to face those in attendance.This mug, wonderfully crafted by Archbury (the fictional name of the base in England where the 918th Bomb Group was based). The detail is astonishing, the hand-painting first rate, and the glaze perfect.I use this mug almost every morning to have my coffee. While it is said to be dishwasher safe, it is too dear to me to wash any other way than by hand.VERY HIGHLY recommended to anyone who is not only a fan of the movie, but of WWII history and warbirds. If my wife would let me, I'd get the larger version of this mug (the size used in the movie) and place it on our fireplace mantel - face out, of course.

Nicely crafted mug and hugely symbolic to me. Its a bit difficult to use with all in the internal shapes from the "face" but is sure a great conversation piece on my office desk....too bad so many generations haven't seen 12 O'Clock High. I know we saw it as part of classes in Squadron Officer School and other courses at Maxwell, AFB

This is a beautifully sculpted coffee mug that also serves as a reminder to me of my father’s passion for the movie Twelve O’clock High, in which a full size mug was used as a movie prop. It’s an exact match of the mug used in Twelve O’clock High but on a smaller scale that is perfect for my coffee or a cold beer. I think of my dad every time I drink out of it! :)

Superb finish quality. Looks great! It's a bit more delicate than your average coffee cup, I wish it were a bit more robust. Somewhat thin-walled so I'll be careful with it.

A great and smaller version of the full sized Toby Mug as seen in the movie "Twelve O'clock High" I have the full sized reproduction and find the coffee versions as nice and reminder of the iconic part the the mug played in the movie. . Anyone who loves the movie will feel they have the mug featured in it. The quality and reproduction are beyond one expect.
