Well painted but no protective varnish applied.
We purchased these for nieces. Arrived in a plan brown bag with no padding. Very poorly packaged. The nesting dolls themselves were painted well but no varnish or other protective finish had been applied. I had expected the seller to make some modest effort to protect these dolls before putting them into the mail system. We were lucky they were not damaged.

Russian nesting dolls are supposed to be hand made in Russia, not China. These dolls are made in China… very disappointing
