Did significant research before choosing this kit. While there are plenty of higher technological detectors available, they cost 2-6 times more than this kit and don't include half of the handy little extras that are included here. I got this for my father-in-law who is not very Tech savvy. He has struggled when trying to set frequencies, sensitivities and other special abilities of the high tech, digital, fully programmable detectors demo units in shops, yet he managed to have this detector working and getting on sample items previously buried in his garden, in less than 25 minutes. The similar research done to Select a supplier was also well worth the effort, as the headphones failed to maintain connection after a couple of months use, and within a day of phoning Spin-a-Disc, a replacement was received that worked straight from the box and, there are no charges for returning the faulty headset. So, in summary, a great Minelab detector, from a great service supplier has made this value for money product available for use every day of ownership, even when a fault developed, by reacting such that the replacement item arrived overnight, making the detector available for use the day after the fault occurred.
