Perfect rice every time
Fantastic little rice cooker. Perfect for one or two people. Rice cooks within 20 minutes and can be kept warm until needed (the longer it is warmed the more chance of crispy rice layer developing on the bottom - so if you like that, you will be pleased)I have cooked sushi rice, brown basmati rice, quinoa and buckwheat in this cooker. All came out well and tasted great.Cooker comes with a recipe booklet that shows that it can be used for making stews or even baking, however, I have not tried to use it for this purposes as yet.It has a non-stick pan inside that comes out completely, the lid has silicone seals which also can be removed so washing up is easy. Unsure if dishwasher safe because I only wash by hand.

Definitely worth trying out.
I'll try not to sound like an infomercial but I have to say that this is great product surpassing all my expectations. It really works as do the recipes. It's very simple to use and if I didn't have a kitchen, I could definitely see using it to prepare food for 1 in a hotel or dorm room. It is very easy to clean up as well. I'm eating the fettucine alfredo that I just made while I was writing this review and it's as good as any I've had in a restaurant. I replaced my rice cooker with this as well saving space. Only two small downsides: 1.) while it comes with a small recipe manual I could find any additional ones online (although I did find the PDF or the recipe manual if you want to check them out before you buy. 2.) It's a bit challenging to the inside pot out when your meal is ready since it's hot. I got around this by using a pair of pliers (very gently) or oven mitts. Not a big deal at all though.Note: It is only big enough for 3 cups (24 oz) of food so it's a good size for 1 person or maybe 2 people preparing a side dish for the main meal.+++ Well, done with the Alfredo. Think I'll go try the raspberry bread pudding for desert next. :-)

Great item for the price paid
I am always travelling for work and the Perfect Cooker always comes with me. It’s small enough that it fits into my suitcase. When I’m travelling, I use the cooker for pasta, soup and porridge. It prepares them all in no time at all. It can also be used to reheat food in the absence of a microwave.I use it at home too. It cooks rice quickly and to perfection and it does a great omelette too. The only downside is that when it clicks off, believing the food is ready, it can’t be turned back on immediately, so you need to allow it to cool for a few minutes before flicking the switch again.Cleaning the cooker is extremely easy. The non-stick bowl requires no effort at all and the lid and inner liner come apart with ease too!

Small but cook perfectly.
I bought this and thought it would be another gadget that I'll be trying once then will be stored in the cupboard with other gadgets I bought in the past, I wasn't very convinced about the result achieved with the perfect cooker. How wrong I was.....I just made one thing in it, a kind of beef stew with diced beef, bacon bits, mushrooms, garlic, shallots, vegs, 1 small potato, thyme, rosemary, 1 bay leaf, parsley, sage, tomato puree, covered with stock, and left it cook for one hour, not expecting much, or expecting a mess. I was absolutely gobsmacked at how delicious it was, and everything was very well cooked. I could not wait to use it again. So, yes, I highly recommend the perfect cooker but beware, it has already been said in other reviews, this is for one person only, you will not be able to do something for two in it.

very usefull but non-stick not durable :(
A lovely product but after only a few months use the non-stick is starting to bubble and peel off in places. It may be a manufacturing flaw in the one I got but it is disappointing that such a useful product is made so cheaply.

Easy to Use Rice Cooker
Purchased two of these, a black and the red, for 2 young adults, who have both been utterly delighted with the item. Just the right size for 2 to 3 portions. Doesn't take up much room on the kitchen counter. Can cook a good many other things besides rice which is the main reason for purchase. Easy to wipe clean and rinse the inner non-stick pot. Keeps warm for several hours. Just be careful that the steam exit hole is located away from the person when opening the lid. The enclosed recipe book is really weird but if you are adventurous then go for it! It's 700ml so double the VonShef which is 300ml so should appease those who need something small but not that small. An on/off switch would have been good but am still giving it the five stars

Good design but an extra cooking pot and a lid would be helpful
I bought a red one a while ago - for some reason the red ones are more expensive. I found that I needed to use it twice when doing a meal. Once for rice and one for curry. Then the same thing happened with a pack of pasta and sauce the pot was too small and the time taken cooking half and then the other half was coming close to the microwave or stove top time.I noticed the black and white cookers were still at the lower price and thought it through. A spare pot might cost £7 or £8 pounds and if I bought the whole thing I would have a spare or I could operate both. So that is what I did.I think if you can want to do a decent sized meal for one at home you might be better off with an inexpensive pressure cooker that might also be used for slow cooking too. But if you want a device simple to use that you can carry it with you and don't mind using it twice it is good.Another option is to get a second bowl and a lid for it. So you could make the curry in one and rice in the other. Opposite order if you had nowhere to wash the bowl before you did the rice. Rice first then put in a lidded container and the curry later. At least washing the curry pot could be done after you finished eating and not in the middle of cooking.
