Great little newbie book.
Great little book! This text does; “Step-by-Step” instructions on how to do the procedures as seen in this book. The book is well documented, and full of useful illustrations. The written text in the book compliments the illustrations with highlighted arrows and illustration numbers, thus making easy connections between critical procedural steps in 2D & 3D drawing.Beware, some versions of FreeCAD may have slightly different interfaces. But FreeCAD has multiple ways of completing the same task to get to the same end results.Haven’t looked at the other two books in the series, but I suspect that they will be useful in my future understanding of FreeCAD.

Great book for beginners
I already know Freecad but my first year was frustrating until I finally had the Ah-Ha moment. This book would have cured that problem in the first day! The guides for the included projects are excellent. i even pickked up a couple neat tricks in the process. There are a couple other things I would have included in the first book but those might be in the second and will be getting that one next.

not current, not for absolut newbie
I want to learn FreeCAD, and this book seemed the most promising. It wasn't.I recently downloaded FreeCAD 1.0.0 and almost nothing on screen matches what's in this book. I spent more time digging around trying to find where things referenced in the book were located in the actual app, and frequently gave up.The book might be quite useful for someone with a semblence of a clue about CAD who isn't looking to be taken by the hand to learn FreeCAD - someone entirely unlike me.

Does what it says on the tin. Buy it.
It actually takes the reader through all the controls, in a sensible sequence. It has clear illustrations that show what the controls look like. It explains everything clearly. It absolutely does "what it says on the tin"

Boek maakt het wat makkelijker.
Samen met het boek maakt het makkelijker maar zonder enige ervaring blijft het omslachtig, echt wennen maar mooi cad systeem.

Simple easy tutorial.
I have learnt more reading this book in an hour than I did using YouTube for weeks on end.The book is well written and flows nicely.I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to learn FreeCAD.

I gave it to my technician
I don't have the book right now but using the basic FreeCAD tutorial. Unfortunately, it doesn't correlate that well with what's on my screen. The FreeCAD program is a huge, overwhelming app, and I still haven't found a resource that I can get through to even clearly scratch its surface. I wish there were some courses available in this area. Not much interest, I guess.
