The build quality seems good. It's sturdy
I'm giving this a 5 star review for now, though I have not had to actually use mine yet. (And I hope I never need to). The build quality seems good. It's sturdy, it functions well. I've practiced applying it to myself and others, and therefore the windlass has been tightened many times. Though, through all of the use, I see no signs of wear, no popped stitches or ripped webbing.I would recommend this to anybody for civilian use where the likelihood of needing it would be slim. I carry it to the shooting range just in case, and I would trust it to do its job if I needed it.

Simple and ingenious
The first thing you'll want to do is watch a video on YouTube or elsewhere that shows you how to store, deploy, and use the SOFTT. Once you do that, you'll see the absolute genius behind the design. In, literally, a matter of seconds, you can have the tourniquet on and blood loss minimized. It's MUCH easier than trying to use a belt or other found objects. They claim this is a single-use device, and I get why, but I would have no problem using one for training, and keeping that same SOFTT around for actual emergency use. It's a rock solid piece of kit, and everyone should have one in (or on) their day bag and easily accessible.

A must for the range bag.
Very comfortable and sturdy. It has a metal handle but a plastic anchor, fits Conveniently in my range bag and I carry one in the car. If you want to be prepared to save a life and maybe even yours don’t hesitate to get this product. If you just want a cheap one you can get a CAT branded one but I’d highly recommend this one. For two reasons. The strap is wider and more pressure can be made with the metal handle.

Durable! Reliable!
Updated version of ol'reliable! New metal strap clamp sticks out in the holster:(. New clamp makes it easier to apply around appendages that are pinned in place (ie. Limbs that are pinned in a car crash). This unit replaced a unit that I have been carrying for several years. That old unit was starting to wear out (fabric was starting to fray). Good purchase!

The plastic unit snapped like a dry pretzel stick
I purchased this SOF-T tourniquet because the windless is metal instead of plastic. I was practicing with another style of tourniquet with a plastic windless in the winter outside in about 20 deg F weather. The plastic unit snapped like a dry pretzel stick. To be truthful, it may have been a defective unit, I have no way of knowing if it was, or not, but it did break under light and causal application of force, and I felt it best to go with a metal design, just to be sure.I tried this type, nice cold day, left it out all night, and in the AM positioned it high and as tight up my thigh as possible, I really reefed down till I couldn't take the pain, and it held up perfect.

This is the tourniquet to have; there are no second-placers.
Identical to one issued to me when I was in the U.S. Army, I purchased this TQT as a component to a first aid kit I take with me on trips to the shooting range. This TQT will stop arterial extremity hemorrhage. This is a top-quality, durable TQT that does its job. I've been issued and/or have carried other variants, mostly lesser-quality ones with plastic lock-bars (as opposed to a metal one, which this TQT has) and no screw to tighten the clamp to prevent loosening (which this TQT has). None have measured up to this tourniquet. I wouldn't carry any other variant but this one.

Warning
Please note that this is a very early generation sof tourniquet with the screw buckle. If you are wanting to flat fold this for edc or for a slim kit this tourniquet is not gonna be it. It is extremely hard to flat fold and much more confusing than the new generations. Especially if this is your first tourniquet. I would reccomend buying one of the newer generations direct from tac med solutions website or a sof t wide.
