Saved me the expense and trouble of finding a PCIe WiFi receiver card for my latest PC, to replace a perfectly good PCI WiFi card from my previous PCI computer. It looks precarious and a tad "Heath Robinson" when installed (!), but it works perfectly and is in fact as stable and solid as any adaptor like this could be.You need to think about the physical location of this within your computer's case, due to the power cables poking out of the back. Be careful when routing that power cable after installation, too: it seems to me that if you bend the power lead too much, there MIGHT be a POTENTIAL risk of breaking the wires off from the card if you are very ham-fisted (!).

I stupidly bought a new motherboard with no PCI slots when I upgraded my PC. I am a musician so needed my old creative soundblaster ex for the external connection box and the high end music quality. I thought I was going to have to ditch it until my research led me to this. I simply slotted it in, slotted the soundcard in on top, and that was it, apart from having to cut a little slot out of the back of the case ( 2 minutes work with a dremel) and that was it! No fuss, no bother, does what it says on the tin.

I was guilty of upgrading my Desktop PC without double checking what expansion slots were available on the new motherboard . I was horrified to discover there was no standard PCI slot on the modern board to house my old X-FI Xtreme music card . After some investigation I came across this adapter and installed it on my PC and then attached my much loved music card .This adapter and consequently my old music card worked immediately with no apparent side effects to the computer. I was and still am impressed with it and would recommend the adapter to anyone facing a similar problem to my own .Please be aware that due to the increased height of the adapter and my full sized soundcard combined I had to physically modify the rear of my case to accommodate it and allow access for the soundcard jacks . This operation is not for the faint hearted so please be aware that as advertised this adapter is only really suitable for the low profile pci expansion cards , not full sized ones . That is unless you are prepared to physically cut the case at the back which is definitely not recommended .All that said , the adapter does its job very well .

I've had to stick to old single core computers to run my lightning detection system, as I have a PCI card that does this.Now, with this, I'm able to use my PCI card in a PCI-e port and it works.No drivers (other than for the PCI card).It's perfect.

I purchased this product as I wanted to fit my tv card from my old computer into my new one which only had pci-e slots. It arrived in good time and I unpacked it and all looked well. After installing (Very basic but simple instructions) I started up the computer and my tv card was not recognised as being installed on the computer. I tried BOTH pic-e slots and the same thing happened. The green light comes on the TV card board showing it is getting power but it is not being registered on the computer as having been installed.The support page of Startech is non existent so no help. I have now reinstalled the tv card into my old computer where it works although it defeats the object of the exercise as it means I have to run 2 computers instead of 1. Because the product has been opened and installed it is not liable for a refund, So have wasted my money on this as well as half a day in time. Buy this product with caution and only if you are willing to lose the money.

I ran out of PCI slots for my Hauppauge Nova S2 card after adding a second video card. Having an unused PCIE slot I decided to try this card/Adapter as a means of using a PCIE slot as a PCI slot under Windows 8.1............this worked perfectly...albeit this card is not securely in place in the case as it is a full size card..but it will work after reinstalling in the drivers / applications

I bought this item so that I could use the PCI SCSI card from my old computer in my new machine and continue to use my EPSON Scanner rather than buy a new scanner. Great idea with one tiny snag, as Kryton would say. The SCSI connector on the PCI card is about 0.25 inches too high and so the SCSI cable connector cannot mate with it owing the shape of the PC case! Some additional engineering will have to be done before I can make full use of this.It is a great pity that USB to SCSI converters are no longer available except at absurd prices.Otherwise, the item arrived well packed and included a spare mounting bracket to replace the mount bracket on the old PCI card.

Permitted me to connect an old PCI card to new PCI-e socket on new mobo having only PCI-e sockets. Works fine but, with the added extra height the computer case has to be modified i.e. An extra hole needed to be cut to give access to the sockets on the PCI card.

I have a PCI Adaptec AHA 2940UW SCSI card that I needed to mount in a PCI-E machine so that I could access an old SyQuest SyJet drive.It worked perfectly and I was able to retrieve backup data from over a decade ago. Invaluable and worth every penny. Highly recommended.

Su uso es simple no requiere mas drivers, solo quizas el de tu dispositivo pero tal cual se identifica como un antiguo pci sin problemas

Ho acquistato questo adattatore per riutilizzare una vecchia scheda di acquisizione video PCI che non volevo buttare. Ho scoperto che funziona benissimo , le prestazioni sono alte su un servizio di acquisizione video che solitamente richiede molta potenza. Non ci credevo, ma funziona veramente bene.

This is disgusting product I would say that how amazon allow to sell it, if it goes this way people would not trust amazon and continue buying on this platform, because the product is not same as seen here, even it's not from startech, it didn't work or detected, may be defective for me totally it's waste of money,
