Sturdy, smooth design, practical, great purchase
This filing cabinet is sturdy and checks all the boxes: fits in my office, plenty of storage, aesthetically pleasing, locks, and is functional. I was impressed with this filing cabinet starting with the packaging (I'll explain everything going in order of my photos. If they get uploaded out of order, it's not terribly hard to figure out which I'm referring to).I was expecting at least a dent on this. It's heavy and you never know when buying something from Amazon how the seller is going to ship it. Upon opening the box, I wasn't worried about any dents. It's encased in thick, dense styrofoam (thankfully the kind that doesn't get all over the place!), split into two halves to cover the top and bottom of the filing cabinet (1st photo is the view when the box is opened, 2nd shows the top part of the styrofoam piece, 3rd shows the filing cabinet in the box without the top styrofoam piece). This weighs 50lbs and I had to get it up to my office on the second floor of my home and I wasn't too sure what the best way to go about that would be (I weigh 100lbs and am not very muscular). I ripped the cardboard box open at the seam and then carefully cut/ripped a side without a seam in order to access the filing cabinet (4th photo). I was pleasantly surprised the bottom was also in a thick piece of styrofoam.I took it out of the box and removed the plastic covering the top, tilted it forward with the bottom styrofoam still on so as to not dent the edges, then lifted it and brought it upstairs. I lifted it out of the bottom styrofoam piece when I got to the top of my stairs (it's a snug fit but was able to be removed by holding it between my legs as I lifted the cabinet up and out - no complaints about the snug fit, it's proper packaging) and there's some sturdy reinforcement thing in that piece (5th photo), which was also good to see.I put it in my office to the side of my desk where I initially thought I'd put it, but it looked weird there the way my office is set up. Thankfully it's very easy to slide across a hardwood floor when empty! It still requires effort, but much less than picking it back up and it didn't scratch my floor as I moved it to under my desk (6th photo). Reposition it, if you need to, before you fill it up (check to make sure the drawers won't bump into anything when fully pulled out, etc). The two keys it comes with are attached and the cabinet comes locked. Before unlocking it, I noticed slim pieces of cardboard along the openings around the drawers - again, great care was taken when this was shipped! (7th photo)8th and 9th photo show the supply tray that people have mentioned in their reviews. It doesn't slide back and forth along a railing but you can lift it out and reposition it (or put it in a different drawer - it came in the second drawer but it's more practical for me to put it in the top drawer, which I did without issue). I can live with this (and if I can't, I can always get rid of the tray). It was secured with a piece of masking tape on each side and the residue washed off of the plastic tray with soap and water. In the top drawer, there's a metal divider (10th photo) which makes a rattling noise when the drawers are being opened and closed but that'll probably quiet down when I actually put things in the drawers. I was concerned about the positioning when I tried to lift it up and it couldn't be removed, but looked at the underside of the drawer and saw the divider is held in place with a zip tie loop around each of the two little nubs that stick through the bottom, which I can easily snip off to reposition (11th photo). The bottom drawer fits letter sized hanging file folders. I'm used to seeing metal bar inserts on the left and right hand side of file cabinet drawers (or a metal divider bar) and this doesn't have any, but the inside of the drawer comes in slightly which perfectly fits hanging file folders (12th photo). It's worth mentioning the sliding mechanism for the drawers is VERY smooth.I couldn't get a good photo of this, but showed this in my video - my floor isn't level so the cabinet rocked a bit. I reached under the cabinet without lifting it up and found one of the legs, which all have the ability to level out the cabinet. I was able to twist the leg I needed to with little effort (they're large enough with a shape that makes it really easy to turn and find, your fingers aren't struggling to find a leg and to keep turning it all the way). As it touched the floor, I needed to exert slightly more effort to get it to where it wouldn't go any further, but that's normal. No more rocking around! All in all, this is a great value for the price, fantastic quality, and super practical. I'll be working from home due to the pandemic until January at the earliest, and needed this to keep my office supplies and such organized. It makes me feel more calm knowing my office supplies have a home and don't need to be in various plastic containers making it a scavenger hunt anytime I need to find something I don't keep on top of my desk.It turns out the "sturdy reinforcement piece" I mentioned earlier in the bottom part of the styrofoam is actually a box that contains wheels! Two have locking mechanisms and two do not (13th photo). I almost threw them away but heard something in the packaging and checked it out. Glad I did! Installing the wheels is a two person job unless you can lift this yourself with ease. Definitely recommend laying it on a rug or soft surface to avoid potentially scratching the cabinet. The wheels are optional, as you can see I put it in place before knowing they were included.I ordered this on September 6th, 2020 and it arrived on September 15th, 2020 via FedEx Ground. Very happy customer!

Very nice looking cabinet!
Ordered the orange cabinet. Arrived quickly via FedEx. VERY HEAVY & Bulky. Driver left package in the mail room of another building in my complex. I didn't think it was a big deal until I saw how big and heavy it was. I'm 6'0 tall and able but it was almost too big to carry. Box didn't fit in my trunk. There was no way I could have carried it home and insult to injury, it's 120 in Phoenix today. Managed to wedge it as tight as I could in the trunk and drove it at 2mph home. Other than the delivery issue, it's great! This would easily sell for $400 at The Container Store. It's solid, well proportioned, and handsome. Would recommend!

Quality of Product
I order the solid black to match my solid black desk and I must say this product was well worth the money. The package is heavy around 60lbs, so do expect that if you have to carry this up flights of stairs. Not saying it's impossible for one person, but if you don't want to keep stopping. Try to get two people to carry it if you can.Speaking of packaging, it was completely surrounded in two piece Styrofoam. One for the top and for the bottom. The Styrofoam was very thick to secure it during transit. As another reviewer pointed out, I doubt this could damage in transit. There was no assembly required for this. Simply pull it out of the Styrofoam and it's ready to go. The cabinet is made up of mostly metal and has a nice sturdy quality to it. The drawers slide out very smoothly and mines don't make a lot of noise. Overall I give this product a 10/10

Sleek, sturdy file cabinet with excellent customer service!
I ordered the white and wood version to match a white steel and bamboo ergonomic desk that I purchased for my home office. This file cabinet did not disappoint! It's made almost entirely of thick metal, which makes it feel like a true, hefty, industrial piece of furniture. The drawers glide perfectly. The cabinet ships with leveling feet attached, which you can unscrew in a minute to attach wheels, instead--and the wheels work great. I originally felt silly spending this much money on a file cabinet for home use, but once it arrived, I really did feel like it was worth the cost. This isn't a flimsy thing you'd get at Office Max; it really is a well-built, well-designed item for commercial use. It looks just as modern in the photos, and I have no regrets! The locking mechanism worked well enough when I tried it, but since I'm using this file cabinet in my home, I didn't really need the lock and didn't want to risk losing the keys. Fortunately, the lock is easy enough to disable; I just removed the plastic pieces mounted to each drawer with a standard Phillips-head screwdriver. The file cabinet arrived packaged extremely well, completely surrounded in styrofoam. Between the thickness of the metal and the thickness of the styrofoam, I can't imagine this thing getting broken in transit. Even if it did, though, I wouldn't worry. I had to contact customer support for a small issue with my order, and they responded and resolved it in under an hour. They were so prompt and pleasant to interact with that I'll definitely consider them for office furniture in the future!10/10 would recommend.

Laura Davidson does it again!
My second purchase from Laura Davidson furniture and I'm so thankful to find a company that actually focuses on creating quality products. They've won me over as a lifelong customer! This filing cabinet is really well designed, sturdy (heavy steel) and beautiful. It locks well and has thoughtful touches inside like the pen holder and divider.A couple of years ago I bought an office chair from Laura and it was equally well designed, beautiful and a great value.

Love this little dude!Cute and sturdyCame very well packaged!! Be careful to look through all packaging for a little bag with the key taped on.Also, if one drawer is open then the others cannot be open at the same time. Perhaps a safety feature so don’t freak out if you attempt this.Lots of storage and meets my needs 100%
