Show me the power child...
A monstrous production from start to finish, Soundgarden's `Badmotorfinger' hit the market place just as grunge was exploding into the mainstream. Though it was only their third LP, the Seattle band were already showing a mastery of many hard rock styles and also turned in their best sounding record to date as well. Lead single "Outshined" seemed to allow the band to revel in all their influences - Sabbath, Zeppelin, etc. - but at the same time brought freshness to what could have been a rehash of older styles. "Jesus Christ Pose", "Rusty Cage", "Mind Riot" and the truly visionary and complex "Searching with My Good Eye Closed" are all outstanding cuts on a record in which there really are no weaknesses. Ben Sheppard had joined the band to complete Soundgarden's most important lineup as Sheppard was able to bring strong musicianship and composing talents to augment an already formidable skill set that SG already possessed in spades. Chris Cornell sounds like he believes he will spontaneously combust if he doesn't deliver his lyrics in the exact paint peeling manner in which they are delivered in what could be the greatest performance of a rock vocalist in the modern era. `Badmotorfinger' was a major breakthrough with airplay on rock radio and MTV and this would pave the way for their mammoth success by the mid `90s. Feeling Minnesota would come to symbolize the resounding popularity of grunge and with Soundgarden; the metal quotient of the movement in its supreme incarnation.

The Defining SOUNDGARDEN
This album IS the quintessential Soundgarden in all its glory. Cornell is belting it out like, well, like he is a young, powerful rock legend and why not? He was and is! You can hear his throat bleeding. The songwriting is awesome -- music and lyrics. It is heavy, driving, sublime, nasty and simply awesome. It is a blast to listen to this and picture the beautiful twenty-something Cornell stalking around the stage in his shorts as the band simply blows the the place up. I just saw SG in DC last month and, suprisingly, they played about 7 songs off of this album. They also continue to use the cover of badmotorfinger as the backdrop on the stage. Seems the fellas agree that this music defines what this amazing band is all about. buy it now and HAVE FUN!!!

This album is a criminally underrated masterpiece often "outshined" by its successor, Superunknown. (See what I did there?) An immensely detailed and complex album, full of unique songs that catch very easily, keeping you from forgetting about its genius sound for very long. (In particular, songs like 'Mind Riot' and 'Holy Water' come to mind when mentioning this) The 57 minute runtime across 12 tracks will be an hour of highly enjoyable listening that will leave you speechless, and is a must-have for any music enthusiast.

Consiglio vivamente l'acquisto. Comprato dal venditore All Your Music sempre affidabile. 5 stelle come valutazione finale.

ファンであれば好きな人が多い名盤です。当時のグランジとは系統が違い、とても同列で語られない作品です。 とにかく未聴で気になる方は聴いてみてください。 聴けば聴くほど凄味を実感出来るでしょう。

Excellent sound material. The change of Hiro Yimamoto to Ben Shepherd in the bass was notable, it sounds deeper. Rusty Cage and Outshine sounds awesome. This album is just for the people who likes the real Grunge of 90's
