Really impressed, will buy more!
Arrived very quickly, I am very impressed with these pouches, there were mixed reviews, but it's like anything, everyone has their own opinions, so I had kept an open mind. They have a thin plastic liner, which I did not expect, overall they are a nice sturdy pouch, and holds the earth well, holes are all ready cut, all you have to do is adjust to the size of your plants, I was planting with Jumbo plug plants, and this is the first year I actually enjoyed making up my pouches!, due to the hessian the pouch holds the water nicely, and the liner keeps the earth moist. I really like these pouches, they look nice whilst the plants are growing, with a good strong handle, unlike the plastic handles which tend to stretch under weight. Before I go, I must be honest, I found one of the pouches had small hole of about 1.5 inches down one side, where it hadn't been sealed, I thought once I started filling the pouch with earth it would split further, it did not!, I filled the pouch with same amount of earth, watered them, and it's still good, my thinking on this was, when the plants mature, the root system will bind the compost. All I can say, is give them ago, yes they are a bit more costly than the plastic pouches, but I love my garden, I even gave one to my mother as a birthday gift, filled with rose bud trailing germaniums, it looked lovely.

Brilliant - well made and good value
Bought for my mother for xmas, unfortunately mislaid so bought again! She planted them up a couple of weeks ago and they're now in the greenhouse, lying on their backs (waiting for the root system to develop). My mother has some loss of sensation in her hands and is visually impaired - she found it very difficult to insert the plant plugs at first until she got the knack. She's now looking forward to hanging them out. They are well made and with care should last at least a couple of years. They should look fantastic once the plants grow and are in flower. Will add further details as the year progresses.UPDATE: After a couple of weeks of lying on their side in order for some roots to develop, they were hung up outside - they're planted with petunias and silver leaved cineraria. It's now early June and the plants are looking really good and the petunia are just starting to come into flower - the pouches are going to look a picture in a week or so. My sister-in-law saw and loved them, so I'm now buying more for an early birthday present for her! Will add a photo in a couple of weeks :)

Brilliant Flower Pouches
These flower pouches were delivered promptly and in top condition. The pouches are about 2ft long and are made from hessian. Green in colour they will look good in any garden. They have two well stitched handles that can be used to hang them up on a hook or over the top of a fence post. You fill the pouch with compost and using the pre measured holes, feed the roots of your small plants through to grow inside. You then lay them flat and water till well established for 2 to 3 weeks. Then they are ready to hang up! They look spectacular when planted with bizzie lizzie, pansy or petunias. You end up with a solid column of blooms. Very nice indeed. Everyone will comment on them! These are the cheapest I could find at this good quality. Will definitely buy them again! As an addendum (may 2011) the pouches are being used again. Still in good nick!Yet another addendum!! I still have two pouches to use for the third year on the run (2012)!Update 13/Feb/2014 -I got three years/seasons out of these (two left standing in the third year!) which isn't bad at all. I am going to order some more for this year. Good luck in the garden to all for 2014!Definitely recommended.

Biodegradable, but prefer plastic.
Tubes very rigid. It was easy to enlarge the tiny holes for plants, but even then the flaps restrict growth. I planted plugs which are small and many have not been able to grow. It was difficult to replace dead plants. The tubes are shorter than plastic ones too. They have very strong handle which is great to hang on a hook but they do not stretch over a bracket or fence post if needed. The main thing I don't like is the colour. They start off a sage green but quickly fade to more sacking brown. As these are hung on a green fence they are not attractive- especially as less plants that have grown show more bag. I always cut more holes and plant more plants but even then the bag shows. Watering is ok, but material dries out quite quickly. I have used plastic tubes for years (9 each year) and much prefer them, although they are not biodegradable which these are. They may last another season, but I won't be using them twice.

Great flower pouches
First time using these and they look great. Followed all the tips and advice on the reviews i.e. allowing roots to establish on flat surface for 10 days before hanging, cut the holes bigger if needed. A bit fiddly to fill and add plants as mine weren't plugs, but well worth it and no resulting issues/damage really. A tip of my own: protect your leaves/buds/flowers on planting by using cardboard leftover from toilet roll, cut down the side, and wrapping it round the plant to feed through the holes. Worked like a charm. Happy planting!

Get a fabulous display
I bought these Hession flower pouches last year and they were fantastic. It is best to plant small plug plants in them and, if possible, keep the planted pouch in a greenhouse to bring them on. It is well worth the wait as it make a fabulous display for a fence or wall,

FLOWER POUCHES
I was a bit surprised to find that the bags were hessian as I was expecting a strong polythene type material. However, I was willing to give it a try and filled the bag with compost and flower plants. I had to make the holes considerably bigger to get the plants in (maybe should have used only plug plants). However we have had a very dry summer and it was not an easy container to water so I did not get the flowering I was hoping for, certainly not like your illustration, and some of the plants did not survive. I have had more success with the polythene type containers to hang on fences in the past.
