get it
pumps great, system is up and running. couldnt be more stoked about something so simple. i was debating between all the options and didnt want to get a non stepper model. but this thing works awesome with a mosfet controller and rpi. ill be ordering enough for my whole greenhouse now.

Good Inexpensive Basic pump
Great pump for simple slow liquid transfer. A bit slow and spits liquid a little bit sometimes, however those issues were minor for my case. Can be run at smaller voltages (I set it up 9V for quite a long time ago and it is still working just fine). Remember that the pipes are not food grade, and they small dirt or other particles get easily accumulated inside.

While moving some parts around, we kinked the output line. We did not notice the problem right away, the back pressure stopped the plastic rollers and the spinning motor shaft melted a groove into the rollers.

Quiet and Powerful
I purchased this pump for a small project; a plant monitoring and watering system. I selected this pump because I felt that not being a submersible pump, it may last longer. I also wanted to have a pump that worked off a higher voltage to ensure I could pump the amount of water needed. I have not used any water pumps in an electronic circuit prior, so I really had no idea what to expect. The first thing I noticed about this pump, and liked, is that it runs quietly. It does make some noise but not what I expected. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it runs at 12V. is that tThe second thing I like, which was important for the project is that this pump supports PWM (pulse width modulation). This essentially means that the speed of the pump can be controlled with a digital pin from a microcontroller. In my case, I used a Node MCU (ESP2866) and connected a digital pin through an N-Channel MOSFET. The MOSFET is a high-speed digital switch that controls the 12V while the digital pin runs at 3.3V. I use an inexpensive 12V switching power supply to supply the voltage a current needed to run the motor. If you are interested in the details search my name on GitHub and check out the plant monitor repository.I soldered a 1N4001 diode across terminals to prevent kick-back current and added 30 AWG wires.I also purchased a submersible 4-5V pump that worked fine but I could not get it to work using PWM.The tubing that came with this pump is a quality tubing and it comes with a generous amount.

Still working 7 months later
Built an Ardunio based plant watering system earlier in the year and these pumps have all been working flawlessly since then. All of the pumps run multiple times a day but for short duration. Couldn't be happier with my selection.

Electroplating
Great little pump. I use it to agitate water near the parts I am electroplating and leave it running for days at a time.I didn't clean the tubes when it wasn't running so had to buy another. I bought two more without hesitation.

Pump failed, killing all the fish in our pond.
We used this pump to control PH in a small pond. the pump failed such that the surround of the tubing separated from the pump. it was just pressed on. this caused the acid it was intended to pump to siphon uncontrollably. the result was that it dropped the PH in our pond to about 3. killed all the fish. In a critical unsupervised application, I suggest a better made pump than this cheap thing.
