Great.

It is impossible to praise the latest Doctor Bird re-issue too highly and it certainly deserve the five stars which it received in Mojo magazine. For four CDs and for music of this quality, the price is a bargain. The compilation includes seven dub albums by Joe Gibbs and Errol Thompson - the 'Mighty Two' from 1974 to 1979 with a further twelve dubs thrown in for good measure to make, in effect, an eighth album The albums include the four volumes of 'African Dub'. There is an informative booklet mentioning the original Studio One and Treasure Isle riddims that were the basis for lots of the tracks (a complete listing would have been even better). Of the eight albums, seven are brilliant, with only the disco-influenced and Moog synthesizer-heavy 'Majestic Dub' not being up to the high quality of the others. A must not just for any reggae-fan but for anyone interested in the history of popular music.

I have been listening to African Dub since they were first released in the '70s. Nothing compares. Melodic dub, not just some unending riff. The dub 'effects' increase with each volume of African Dub. To me Chapter 3 is the best, but Chapters 1 and 2 are superb. This has been my favorite dub all these years.

Doctor Bird è un etichetta che sta riproponendo ottimi album. La qualità audio varia da ottima a media comunque tanta bella musica.Unica pecca il prezzo, pagati 42 e oggi per un breve lasso di tempo l'ho rivisto a 29 quindi aspettare e risparmiare o forse non trovarlo più e quindi trovarlo a prezzo maggiore sul mercato dei collezionisti?

These classic dub plates from Joe Gibbs and The Professionals from the seventies sound fantastic on my stereo. The music features fantastic rhythms of classic reggae tracks with the the dub treatment.The bass, horns, drums, a variety of instruments, some occasional vocals and wild studio effects create such beautiful joyful vibes. A must have for fans of classic reggae dub and positive vibrations. Highly recommended!
