I purchased this drain auger to clear roots and sludge from a septic leach field. The machine did a nice job although, it took many passes to git the lines clear.Much care should be taken because when the auger bit binds, the cable can twist creating lots of problems. When the bit binds, it's important to stop the machine and let the cable untwist.There is a nice selection of bits. The auto feed function was well worth the additional cost.

Very disappointed by the design of this drain auger. The spooler cage is made of cheap plastic which will likely break in case the cable kinks inside and this is a safety concern to me. People who are used to using this kind of machine probably know that it can quickly happen regardless of how cautious you are while operating it. The directions of the motor that operates the auto feed are also reversed which can be very confusing. It looks like the manufacturer didn’t address this issue that other users reported… Speaking of which, the marking on the drain doesn’t say “PioneerWorks”. It just says “Drain Cleaner”, so I wonder if it was built by a serious and reliable third-party…

Item requires an assembly lifting a heavy motor and cable box not mentioned in the description for amateur buyers, also the item weight is not provided on Amazon page.
