Very Unique - Quite Bitter (Lime)
This is a unique pickled dish that's hard to explain. The lime is the most potent flavor, but it's a bitter, rind-full taste that I normally don't like... it's contributing both a sour fruity flavor, but the bitterness is unpleasant to me. I also taste the turmeric, coriander and cumin pretty clearly. The overall mix of flavors does remind me of some other Indian foods. I can pick out the chunks of mango and carrot, and maybe even bits of lime with the rinds on in it? The spice/heat/pain is mild to medium to me. I think the more shocking thing to the tongue is the sourness and bitterness in combination, than the spice level. It's a very strong and shocking flavor that's worth trying. I have no idea how to use it in a dish, or as a side. It's so overwhelming. Ordered December 2023 Best before August 2025 (20 months expiration) Store in the refrigerator once openned. Product of India.

Classic Indian Pickles
I was introduced to Indian pickles by an Indian friend, who said American pickles were bland. Indian pickles are really something completely different... more like spices with oil and a some fruit or vegetables to add bulk. They are too salty and full of bitter raw spices to find much pleasure in eating straight, but a little on flatbread is delicious. These pickles have that same classic flavor. They are a very basic staple Indian food, so you can likely find this MUCH cheaper locally if you have stores that sell them. I also had an issue with the jar leaking when it came, but at least is was sealed in a plastic bag to catch the liquid.

Not My Cup of Tea
This jar arrived sealed, but the lid twisted off very easily making me believe that perhaps the seal had been broken in transit. I realize that this is clearly listed as being packed in olive oil, but that doesn't truly convey just how oily this stuff is. Spreading even a couple tablespoons of this stuff leaves me feeling gross, like I just scooped out the crumbs out of of a deep fryer that have been there for weeks. Add to that it is spicy, and has this persistent creeping burn. You feel it oozing its way down you like molasses even 15 minutes after eating. I am accustomed to spicy stuff and I have eaten various chili oil mixes, though not ever a product like this. Perhaps this would hold appeal to the ethnic communities that grow up with this food, but to me, a casual Indian food lover, I did not like this.

I personally did not like the taste
Bottle came in package that leaked oil, however it's pretty Not hard to seal a pickle jar, so not sweating about it. Twist cap. Glass bottle. The mustard oil that the pickle is dipped in seams to be fragrant and authentic. Taste: most important thing how does it taste? While taste is vastly different human to human, I did not love this one! It's way to sour and let me tell you, I love sour but its almost not edible. The flavor is really nice and smell delicious however I could not bring myself to even like it.
