Good read
Quick mind easing, nice read, very good fiction. All books along same theme but each one has something different. You should like them all, very well written.

Good enough story spoilt by poor proof reading
Frank Whittle has a grudge against Karen Marshall's father. His revenge is to have Karen abducted from her family and friends in England shortly before her 18th birthday and she's handed over to a 'People Trader'.Transported to the Middle East, it's intended to auction Karen to be set to work in brothels. However, young European girls are a much sought after commodity among private buyers and this market offers far more profit for the Traders.Karen is chained up, drugged, beaten and abused by those well experienced in breaking any woman's spirit. Even so, Karen's sense of self preservation remains strong. Unlike many 18 year old girls, she is accomplished in self defence, kick boxing and martial arts as well as being clever and to some extent cold & calculating. The book can at times be fairly explicit but any story of a young girl being sold in the sex trade would be impossible to narrate without some candid scenes. My disappointment in this book was the poor formatting which continually had lines appearing to be a new paragraph. When coupled with various spelling mistakes, grammatical and punctuation errors, it did detract from the enjoyment of reading what has the foundation for a reasonably good story. The story together with the numerous possibilities for developing further adventures for Karen should, I feel, deserve a higher star rating. However, the proofreading only merits one to two stars so I have split the difference and awarded three stars.I hope the errors can be corrected - it is a shame to spoil a reasonable story.

My what a good read !!!!!
Very well written book loved Karen but also got to like sirec and hope there is more to come from them. May be in another book they may get together or even work together both have a connection . I have just reread this book and I am glad I did it reminded me of how it all started . At three moments I am waiting good books 18. Yes there are a lot . But I have had a great edification reading them . Yes there is poetic licence to them. If not nobody would read them. But Keith draws you in and you just want to keep reading Well I did any way . So I hope you enjoy them and be aware ....!!!#

A Totally New Twist.
I now realise the reason why this first book in the series spent its first half apparently going nowhere, to the extent that I was beginning to get bored. However, I'm glad I persevered because the second half was definitely worth the wait and I was suitably primed to thoroughly enjoy the second book which took the form of a sequel. I've now ordered No 3 and hope the standard continues.

Disturbing read, removed from reality
I finished this book and was greatly disappointed as this was such a missed opportunity.People trafficking, enforced prostitution and sexual slavery are massive problems which are rife the world over today. And these issues affect the United Kingdom just as much as anywhere else. So a plot which involves the kidnap of a seventeen year old teenager who is sold into sexual slavery in order to settle a grudge is relatively plausible and one which also reflects the fate of those women (predominantly from Eastern Europe) who are smuggled into this country for the purpose of enforced prostitution. The author could have used this story to raise awareness of this disgraceful trade and also show the impact that it has on the abducted person and her family. Instead the book reads as if it is a warped sexual fantasy where all aspects of realism have been blown out of the water as the author has created a dark, quite frankly disturbing book. The young girl is transported abroad where she endures gang rapes (which she apparently enjoys on the first occasion), is humiliated regularly by being forced to lap dance and endures degrading skin treatments in order to `prepare' her for her new owner. Eventually the girl is rescued by the SAS and at this point turns into a merciless `Rambo' equivalent in her attempt to escape the country and return to England. Now I'm no expert and do not claim to be, but I refuse to believe that any young girl who is being gang raped would find the experience pleasurable. I find the suggestion extremely offensive and one which is so far removed from reality that it is in the realm of disturbing fantasy. The seventeen year old girl is portrayed as a hard, sterile, killer who appears to be an expert soldier regularly outwitting members of the SAS, because she has acquired the necessary skills due to paintballing excursions with her dad back home. I found that I couldn't create a picture of a young teenager in my mind when reading, as she used words, phrases and expressions reminiscent of a middle aged man. It felt like the author had tried too hard to create a young girl and instead created a younger, female version of himself. This is a fictional novel yes, but one which is so far removed from reality that it borders in the fantasy genre. It is dark, graphic and brutal which wouldn't be such of an issue if the plot echoed real life events. Yet because it has been given a perverse twist, the story becomes degrading and truly uncomfortable to read. Not recommended to those looking for a serious read, this is a warped fantastical novel and one which is very disturbing.

Gripping read, you won't be able to put it down.
I'd never heard of Keith Hoare before purchasing this book, it was actually recommended after reading a non fiction book about trafficking so I thought I'd give it a go and I'm so glad I did.I get very bored easily if the story isn't gripping and I'm pleased to say this book is anything but boring. I was completely hooked although it is difficult reading sometimes as it can be quite graphic.I'm now a Keith Hoare fan and I'm currently reading the second instalment of this series, the books are well researched and I'm actually surprised at some of the bad reviews on here. Gripping read.
