Avoid. Would appear not to support tethering of a DSLR to Lightroom.
Tried with two different Apple Macs (iMac Retina and Mac Pro) and two different cameras, and whilst Lightroom can 'see' the cameras, no data passes between camera and computer and it doesn't take long for Lightroom to keep popping up its 'Intermittent tethering problem' dialog.Removing this extension cable and connecting computer to camera with the non-extended USB 3.0 cable and it all works fine, but this extension cable is clearly a step too far.And what's the point of a tethering extension cable if the result is that you can't use it to tether a camera further away from the computer?A very disappointing effort, and would absolutely not recommend this product under any circumstances.Note: Whilst it does not say so on the Amazon product page, this cable requires an additional powered USB connector (available for about £85 here on Amazon) in order to work. At least, that's what is says on the packaging. However, sadly even with this additional powered USB item (bought from a camera shop in London) it still doesn't support extended length tethering. It might be an issue with both of my cameras and both of my Macs, but it's looking increasingly likely that this cable simply doesn't put the signal through well enough to support tethered shooting.

You get what you pay for
Having watched an Olympus UK ambassador demonstrate and tutor tethering photography, I thought I'd give it a try and perhaps do it on the cheap. Didn't work; slow transfers and sometimes corrupted transfers with photos partially missing parts of the shot entirely! He recommended Tether Tools and I should've listened because all that cheap crap I bought? Wasted money.

Great product, works on Mac and Win
I bought it to tether EOS 5dIII with computers. It works very well both on Mac and Windows machines (including MacBook Pro 16” via USB type C hub). So far no issues with connection.Quality is top and bright orange colour allows you to see it better.I use it in portrait photography while in studio.Highly recommended

Exactly the right tool for tethered photography over longer distances
Works great with my cameras keeping the speed of transfer high when I'm shooting tethered. I used this in combination with the cameras' standard USB 3 cable to give me a much longer cable. As it's bright orange you are more likely to see it, and avoid tripping over it too.

Quite expensive for what it is but it is pretty good quality
Quite expensive for what it is but it is pretty good quality. That said I do have a problem with it losing connection when it's plugged directly into my MacBook, but I use a USB hub anyway and it works fine with that.
