For Kia EV6

Easy to install, although cable management may take a little time. Looks totally OEM which is impressive. Footage can be viewed easily from the app, or read directly from the SD card if removed. I’d definitely recommend as a nearly-native dashcam for the EV6.

Perfect fit and easy install.

This review is currently based on installation and first day of use. I'm concerned about some of the reports of durability and lack of error reporting should the device not be working well. This brings me to my primary concern with the device and the reason for the immediate loss of a star. You can only connect the app to the dashcam through wi-fi. This means that you cannot connect to the dashcam at the same time you are connected to things like Android Auto wirelessly. This is confirmed on the manufacturer's web site as "working as intended". The only options are to a) disconnect Bluetooth or Android Auto anytime you want to connect with the dashcam b) Plug your phone in so that Android Auto doesn't need bluetooth/wi-fi to connect (defeats the whole purpose of going wireless and using a dashcam that limits visible wires) c) use a secondary phone to connect with the dashcam (defeats the purpose of a minimalist installation of the dashcam. In my opinion, this is a glaring oversight for a device you're ultimately paying a premium for, not for the extended features, but but for the "OEM", clean installation look. While I do not need to regularly see what the dashcam is seeing (I can see through the windshield), it is good to have regular reassurance it is actually recording and functioning properly. Having to go through tedious steps to do so makes me wonder if this was worth the price. Beyond that, as others have said, the installation was quick (10 minutes) and easy, and the initial video quality is acceptable and it really does look like it "came with the car".

I've had this camera for a few days in my 2022 Kia EV6 Wind AWD and I'm really liking it so far. The biggest benefit is that it replaces the cover of car's windshield sensor behind the rearview mirror and taps directly into the auto dimming mirror's power so that you don't see any wires and don't even notice the camera. No suction cups or anything that will move around or get in the way. They did a great job of matching the plastic cover. It was fairly easy to install. They give you a little pry tool to pop off the old cover, you use a wire harness to plug in the new cover and then the only kind of difficult part is putting the new cover on so it snaps in properly. Overall, it's a 10 min job. I don't have any other dashcams to compare the quality to, but the app does give you a few resolution options and lets you choose the size of each file that is stored. There is a button on the device to capture a photo if you need a snapshot and it can record sound if you need it to record a spoken license plate number or something else. Because it uses the power source that goes to the auto dimming mirror, it won't function when the car is off. For me, it's not too big of a deal since my car spends 95% of its time in my garage. If you park on the street or in a public garage, this may be something to consider. It comes with a 64 gig micro sd card and should replace old video segments once it fills the storage up, but I haven't collected enough video yet to test it. There are three lights on the display but they are very dim and you have to look at it at just the right angle to see them. This may be by design because I certainly wouldn't want to see those lights all the time when driving. I'm really liking the clean look and I think this makes a great intro to dashcams if you are a new user.

Integrates so well that there'd be no way to know it's there if you didn't know it was there. Works great, simple to use and surprisingly inexpensive. Also very, very easy to install.

This is a great addition to my KIA EV6. Installation is very easy, takes about 10 minutes and the end result is fantastic, looks like a factory installation. Setup is through the FITCAMX app, where you connect with WiFi. Video quality is very good. The only thing I would add would be a GPS metadata tie-in to add map and speed information to the video.

(Important note : Please change the wifi password which can easily be done on the app. Also during setup if you use wireless AA or CarPlay adopter unplug that device during setup as it will keep overriding your wifi connection) I love the look as it perfectly integrates into the back mirror plastic. Installation as other's have mentioned was super easy. Included the plastic pry tool so that was really helpful. Two things I wish it could do better. 1. Buttons. It's really hard to tell which is camera and which is power. Some kind of colored or more easily felt bump would've made it great. 2. Parking mode is not available without extra more "professional" installation. They sell the kits on FitCamx site and you order it separately. What would've been better is if it had integrated battery. Which it easily could (especially on EV6 where the plastic house is so huge it wouldn't have added that much bulk) But if you are like me don't like wires going everywhere for a dash cam and just want no fuss device. (at least if you have an EV6) this is it.

Item doesn’t power on. I continue to try and make it work. Limited instructions included. I do feel the product has potential once I get it going
