I think I've hit the 5 or 6 month mark, this thing is incredible! We're just now getting to the fill mark, so I'll be sprinkling some compost on my garden soon. It's silent, no smell, sometimes we'll get a little food on the lid or the interior lid, but it's easy enough to wipe off with a cloth. Size is great - it's a little smaller than our regular garbage can, but it looks intentional and professional - it should appear legit wherever you put it. Crazy easy to use, after assembly and reading the instructions, you just put stuff in it. I'm impressed with how much food it can handle, and I (again) read the instructions - you can't just clean out your whole fridge at once and put stuff in there, but there have been a couple days where we put a 'reasonable' amount that was larger than cleanup from a regular meal, and it did just fine. Six months, no issues. Only request is that it was hard to find the 'recharge' packets of the yeast or probiotic mix that came with it. I used a different brand, but I'd buy their stuff out of loyalty if I could find it and it were priced right.

I live in a rural area on septic so I am very careful about what can go down the drain. Geme being the size of a normal kitchen trash can is super convenient to just scrap food waste into it and let it turn into great compost for my garden. Helps keep rotting food out of my trash to draw in predators to my chickens/dogs and lets me utilize my food waste instead of sending it off to a landfill. Customer service is excellent as well! I bought one of the earlier models available. One of the plastic gears bent after several months of frequent use so the chain that turns the rotor slipped off and the device was unable to churn the compost. I contacted Geme and they send me a newly designed, sturdier gear free of charge. It's nice to see a company that honors their warranty and is continually looking for customer feedback and flaws in their devices that they can upgrade! Super happy that the new gear could be retrofitted on to the new device instead of having to replace the entire unit to further reduce plastic/appliance waste ending up in landfills! Geme is worth every penny!

First impressions were strong: quiet, odorless, clean design. Exactly what I wanted for managing the volume of produce I go through.A few months in, an error code and 20 seconds of loud beeping told me something was wrong. Standard troubleshooting didn't fix it, so I contacted the company. I was mid-international relocation, juggling multiple things that had gone sideways with new purchases, and I was not in the mood.What happened next is the reason I'm writing this review.The customer service was the best I've encountered in years, maybe longer. Not "pretty good." Not "they responded promptly." Actually generous, thorough, and human in a way that felt rare. They sent replacement parts with clear tutorials, and when I finally sat down to do the repair, it was straightforward. They honored every part of the process.Four stars for the product because an issue that required my intervention is still an issue. But if I could rate the customer experience separately, it's a ten.In a world where most companies treat post-sale support as a liability, these people treated it like a responsibility.

I had such high expectations for this composter. Alas.1. When we removed it from the shipping carton, there were what appeared to be mildew or mold stains on the corners of the composter's white case. The carton did not show any signs of water damage. So I was concerned about where this machine had been. The interior did not appear used, but the stains on the exterior case were concerning.2. As we started to fill the composter with orange peels, leftover salad greens, cold coffee grounds, etc. it started to have an odor. As it got fuller, the odor got stronger - sort of like rotting fish.3. As the compost approached the "Full" line, my husband hauled it outside so I could empty it. I was DELIGHTED with the texture of the compost!!4. But the smell was overpowering.5. As I dug farther to the bottom, I found little bits and pieces of gray rubber - about quarter size. I never found any source for those pieces of rubber, BUT neither my husband nor I put anything made of rubber in the machine!6. I am kicking this machine to the curb!!!

I was so excited to start using this food composter machine, before I purchase I read reviews and research. Also my daughter who lives in Korea uses one(Korea brand) and it works really well. As soon as I am back to US home I ordered this one(very similar to my daughter’s). But when it was opened and plugged. An error message was displayed and the beeping sound won’t stop. I followed the manual that press deodorize button for 5second, then beeping stopped. But it started again a while later. Also the back of machine was very hot. Still displays error code’E11’ which doesn’t listed on the error code list in the manual. I wanted to contact CS to possible fix these problems but instead they asked me if I want to return or not. I selected return of course. So disappointed. I dont think I will replace it.

We are over 2 years (26 months) enjoying our GEME. It’s awesome. I don’t like wastefulness so being able to not only recycle our kitchen scraps but to reuse them in our garden has been really satisfying. I have lost track of the amount of compost we have been able to empty from GEME and use in our garden, but It’s a lot. Maybe the equivalent of 2 to 3 large bags of compost that I used to buy from the garden store. If I think of the cost of buying compost, GEME is probably gonna pay for itself in another couple years. For FYI, compost is “hot” so you shouldn’t put it directly into your garden. We empty our GEME into a large plastic trash can and store outside for a 2-3 months to “cool down” before we mix with our garden soil.The GEME is relatively quiet, like a hum. A bit louder than a modern refrigerator or in room air cooler/air cleaner. If I accidentally put too much moist waste in, then I can hit the dehydrator button and GEME dries the compost. If the compost has caked at the bottom because I put too much moist stuff in there, then I use the little scoop that it comes with, and I stirr the compost around. If it looks a little dry, I can add a bit of water. If it starts to smell, which is rare, I can press the deodorized button. Even though it is allowed, I choose not to put bones in GEME because even a small bone like a chicken leg can get caught in the blades, and it rubs against the liner and makes a loud squeaking sound, I choose not to wait for it to break down and compost.Maintenance cost is low. GEME does not require replaceable filters, which if anyone has priced those for other brands of composters, they are expensive. At the time when we first bought our GEME, small bags of GEME compost starter were not available, so we bought a small inexpensive bag of compost starter from Amazon, which lasted for about a year and a half. When we empty out our GEME we leave a little bit of compost in the bottom and add a couple tablespoons of compost starter to restart the process.There was no social media help for GEME when we first bought ours, so I monitored and still monitor social media support groups for the other brand composters. I’ve never had any of the troubles those other brands have. For example, on that other brand people have trouble with their liner melting and that’s never happened with GEME. Pictures of compost for that other brand just look junkie. My GEME compost looks rich and fertile.I’ve read some of the reviews on here where people are having issues. I’ll just say read the directions that come with the GEME. GEME is easy. No regrets and still feeling like I won a jackpot.

As described by other customers, this composter is great considering quietness, capacity, and appearance. I will add that Geme customer service is also responsive and helpful. Our unit had an issue as it turns out and intermittently tripped our kitchen circuit breaker. Geme support helped us troubleshoot and ultimately decided to give us a replacement. Returning via ground shipping was cost free and easy. So far, no problems with the new unit and we’re pleased with its trouble-free performance.I especially love this device because it saves me time that was once used (wasted) spent chopping up kitchen scraps, bringing out to a garden composter, regularly rotating the composter, etc. Now, we never have to leave the kitchen because this machine does everything that the old composting system did, only better!. It’s produces odor-free quality compost with no human labor required and only needs emptying maybe once in three or four months. It quickly digests and dehydrates everything - just open the lid and drop the scraps in, it does the rest.Yes, it costs a bit - but what quality appliance doesn’t? In my view, this is a life enhancer for both home owner and the environment. Consider as a perfect gift for newly weds or anyone setting up a new home. They, and their flower beds, will appreciate it for years to come.

Bought this machine Dec 2nd 2024. It worked well until just last week. We started getting loud beeping noise with error code E1. The company is non- responsive. Had to email them with no response. There is no support like advertised. I had to google error code and still not working. I now have to reach out to amazon to see if they can resolve the issue.

Il est très silencieux, le design est bien et la machine passe plutôt inaperçue dans la cuisine. La quantité de traitement de restes de nourriture est incroyable! Les restes disparaissent souvent par le matin suivant comme par magie et c'est toujours une étrange surprise. Cela fait une bonne quantité de compost.Nous n'avons pas essayé le compost sur nos plantes alors on ne sait pas si c'est de la qualité ou quoi, mais si je me fie aux témoignages sur internet ça ne devrait pas être un enjeu. Pour nous, quand on ouvre le couvercle on sent une espèce d'odeur de sauce soya qui ne nous dérange pas. On est loin du petit bac à compost puant, gluant et avec des petites mouches d'avant! Le seul regret est qu'on ne doit pas y mettre de papier mouchoirs ou essuie-tout, mais les avantages dépassent cet inconvénient. Cher, mais extrêmement pratique. On ne pourrait plus s'en passer.

Out of the box brand new (may be in appearance) did not work was suppose to replace - nothing done yet

It generates compost continuously and gives off heat. Silent operation paddles rotate very slowly.

I am very dissapoined, because in year and a half it stop working compleely.
