Impressed with the picture quality
We have always said we'd buy one of these PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) motion sensor security cameras to cover the back garden. This dome camera seems to cover an even wider area than the standard security camera that we had previously been using, and I'm told, was relatively easy to set up. With the images either directly to my phone/tablet, recorded on to a SD card, or both.I have viewed, but not recorded the images at night which cover the full length of the garden, and they were also very clear; my cat and a fox were the only night time visitors thankfully. The bright night vision throws a light over a large area, when motion activated; which I also found rather handy for when I emptied the bins, after dark. We have used the WiFi connection, which again gives clear, uninterrupted images from our router at the front of the house.Quite my accident I found the camera also has a microphone, and speaker; maybe more useful at the front of the house; but if you enjoy the sound of the birds in the morning keep switched on!The app allows us to zoom in, and adjust other settings, like the volume, all working as expected.I must say this dome security camera has actually exceeded our expectations; placed on the back wall with the installation screws and plugs provided. It looks and feels like a solid unit, and of course it is completely weather proof; strong winds and heavy rain over the last week have proved that.A very good security camera we both thought, images better than expected to be honest; would recommend.

Easy set up, picture quality is very good, but not the best
The media could not be loaded. Good quality camera, feels heavy and well packaged.I like that it's a PTZ without it being really big and obvious. The lens is tinted so people can't see where the camera is pointing, so it will deter would be thieves and bad actors. The picture quality is very good, but it's not the best I've seen, but for the price, and with £20 off, I was surprised at just hot good the picture quality is and how well it functions. It works with my hikvision 7200 DVR/NVR, Very straightforward to add the camera to DVR, and the PTZ Function works on the DVR as well. Which is good.TipsUse Hicam PRO app, not the basic one.WiFi password default is 01234567. It took me a while to find that!Overall very impressed, especially for the price.I have other SV3C cameras in use at the moment, and they're the better ones I ha e out of the others I've bought on Amazon. .

Worth the money
I've been through a few cameras of varying price and quality, and the SVC3 range seem to hit that sweet spot between price and quality nicely. The construction of this is hefty with a metal mounting plate (hint: do you do need to use screws that fit in the countersunk holes if the ones supplied are too short), not the lightweight plastic you see on other cameras.5MP picture is crystal clear, and manages to keep full colour even at night (albeit there is a streetlight outside, which other cameras needed to switch into B&W mode for).Being ONVIF compliant, this works like a dream with Blue Iris and other similar DVRs; pan/tilt speed is fine, although the zoom is digital only, not optical.

Great Camera – Better than expected
The media could not be loaded. I bought this camera to replace a faulty device which monitors the rear of my property. Although the manufacturer’s advice is to mount the camera internally, I have been using it connected to the underside of my garden shed roof as seen in the photograph. The camera is IP66 rated and as such should withstand the elements, and so far I haven’t experienced any issues other than the need to occasionally wipe the dome to keep it clean and free of moisture.SETUP: I followed the brief, but clear instructions to connect the camera directly to an RJ45 network cable in order to initially configure the camera. Once done, I was able to remove the physical network cable and the camera connected to my WiFi Access Point. I use a number of different SSIDs on my property, and I was able to select the most appropriate via the Mobile App. I initially left the majority of the settings to their default values and just switched on the Intelligent Tracking feature and the ability to send email messages when the camera receives a motion detection alert.FIXING: After briefly testing a few locations for the camera, I mounted it on the corning of my shed roof overhang, allowing it to point towards the rear of my property. Attaching the camera was a simple task as it is supplied with a metal mounting plate which first screws into position. It is then just a matter of attaching the camera to this plate and feeding the power cable as necessary. To my surprise the WiFi connection was extremely stable even though it was connecting approx. 20 metres back to my house where the WiFi Access Point is located. A point worth mentioning is that this camera works on both 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz frequencies. This is very unusual for these cameras, as most only connect to 2.4Ghz. A further feature, not mentioned in the advertising literature is that this camera will also operate using a direct RJ45 network connection. I managed to successfully test this as I have a cabled network connection to my garden shed.CONNECTIVITY: This camera can be controlled and viewed via many different methods: the recommended free Mobile App called CamHipro, many other Mobile Apps, most Web Browsers and also via various NVR systems as the device is ONVIF compliant. When accessing the camera via the HTTP port it provided advanced configuration options via the built-in interface and also allows you to view the live camera feed.Features / Quality: The quality of the image, both live and recorded is amazing. Although the camera does not have optical zoom it is possible to use the digital zoom feature to zoom into the images without any noticeable degradation in quality. This was possible using CamHipro and via my Synology Surveillance Station NVR.I was extremely impressed with the Intra Red Night Vision. The camera was able to light up my entire garden and rear of my property. See the attached screen shot. The Intelligent Tracking feature works well using it’s Pan / Tilt and tracks with pinpoint accuracy. I have attached a short video capture showing the camera tracking me from my rear door and following me around the garden. It even manages to detect birds in my garden when the sensitivity setting is at 70% - screen shot attached. By experimenting with the sensitivity control you are able to fine tune the level of motion trigger required. The camera has 2-way audio and although I don’t have any use for this, I noticed the microphone is very sensitive and manages to capture the “dawn chorus” from the birds in my garden very clearly.SUMMARY: The camera is easy to install and configure and works with 2.4ghz & 5ghz WiFi and RJ45 network cabled connections making it the most flexible camera I know of. With a video resolution of 2560 x 1920 and a frame rate up to 25fps the clips and still images provide more than sufficient detail to zoom in, without losing any discernible quality. The Intelligent Tracking feature works well and makes good use of the Pan & Tilt capability. This would help to follow an intruder thereby capturing greater video footage which could later be zoomed into for better identification. Even just set at 15fps the camera was able to capture a bird in flight. (screen shot attached) This shows the quality of the lens, and proof of the overall quality of the camera.I would not hesitate to recommend this camera based on the feature set, quality and cost.

Bad tracking and lense foggy at night
Replaced older dome camera with this and oh boy what a waste of money. The camera gives reasonable picture quality, but the motion detection is really poor. The cam tracks too slow so if and when it finally pickes up a target, it's soon lost as the camera takes forever to realise what its supposed to be doing.Contacted the seller to trouble shoot these issues and after a few messages gave up communication. They claim that the fogging is down to outside temperature and camera is mounted to high for tracking to work properly, is 15ft really to high?About as helpful as chocolate oven!
