We looked at a strangely large number of available log holders. Not sure why there are so many. We have a limited space with a 30cm wide footprint and did not want to overwhelm the beautiful ceramic wood burner which just landed in our living room, so went for this simple in form and functional log stand. What can I say? It holds wood and looks good (apologies for the rhyme). Could be a third cheaper, but it is not something you buy often and we look at it every night, so I guess the seller gets away with it. The metal is not thin at 1.7mm, but it feels just past flimsy, so for this price another 0.5-1mm would have made it better value (and a 5* review). And indeed, when fully loaded the sides in front bulge out by about 5mm, which is not really visible from the sofa, but pretty obvious when you look down the edge of the side. We could have returned it on this basis, but probably won't. Alternatively, if the price was a third lower it would have been 5*. Shame, I like writing really good reviews.Update: as an engineer I should have picked a better test for too much flexibility of the sides. The difference in widths between the bottom, where the sides are attached to the bottom and the top where they aren't. At the bottom: 32cm, at the top: 35cm, and there is no load above the top edges of the holder. So if you don't mind the slight bendiness, this is still a pretty good stand. I still really like its simplicity.

I had been looking for something like this for some time. I saw something very similar for twice the price in a shop selling log burners and accessories. I didn't think, on ordering, that this would be of a similar standard, but it is. And at a lot less cost! It holds enough logs for each day of use and you can stack logs to look neat when not using the log burner. It is worth the price and I can recommend it.
