Fallkniven CC4 Ceramic Ceramic Whetstone,White,grey,brown

Used this to rehone some knives i have used (each knife failing the fingernail test) and within 5 minutes of sharpening each knife with the cc4 it was more than shave worthy which if you are in the field is more than good enough.I nornally use whetstones to sharpen and rehone my knives at home then when they need a touch up ill use this cc4 if im out in the woods and for it only weighing 77 grams (cc4 weighs 52 and the leather cover/strop is 25g) i dont think theres another knife sharpening system this light, compact and effective anywhere else on the market.Ive used this to touch up fishing hooks, arrowheads, scissors, knives, scalpels, straight razors you name it.Would i use this over a set of whetstones?Yes and no, if at home ise the whetstones for a much sharper cutting edge but if you dont have the time, money, space or the interest in getting a fancy knife sharpening setup which can take a lot of time and effort to learn how to use consistently then the cc4 will more than suffice but dont expect to get reality splitting levels of sharpness, it will create hair splittingly sharp blades but thats about it.

Good size for sharpening pocket knives. You will want a coarser stone for edges that are significantly out of shape, with nicks or other damage. With a bit of care the edges of the stone can be used on serrations.No need for water or oil, use soap and water to clean.The leather pouch doubles as a strop; the instructions recommend green polishing compound, but I didn’t feel it was needed. You have everything need to keep your knives razor sharp!

FÄLLKNIVEN CC4Within a hour of arrival, I sharpened three dull/dulling knives. One Mora and two Victorinox kitchen knives. All came up razor sharp.One side(dark-grey) is to bring a rough edge from a dull knife. The fine side(white) is for cleaning it up. My favourite part is actually the leather pocket it comes in, Fällkniven have made one side rough for stopping. Such a great use of materials. I might add a wee snap for extra(OCD...😅) security, but the leather pocket already has good retention.I would highly recommend this CC4 sharpening stone. It fits in your pocket, take it anywhere! 10/10

as I own the falkniven DC4 I saw this and as I was impressed with the DC4 I would buy this and give it a try boy was I impressed again this was for basic honing of my knives this brought up a razor sharp edge on both my Swiss army huntsman knife and my leatherman surge both can does remove the hair on my arm another good test for a knife is the tomato test if the knife can slice the skin without stabbing or applying alot of pressure its sharp enough for most applications also the sweet peppers or capsicum/salad peppers the same applies this was a test I used alot in my 15yrs of catering as the old saying goes a sharp tool is a safer tool as very little pressure is needed for the tasks at hand i cannot recommend these enough and I'm confident enough to say these stones are good enough for the best knife sharpener out there happy sharpening 🙂

This is now my go-to pocket sharpening stone for pocket knives. You can restore a swiss army knife from dull to shaving sharp (literally) without even the need to strop. Unfortunately the white (ultra fine) side was uneven when I got it, though I'm not sure how common this defect is. if this happens to you, just flatten it on a fine DMT with a little water, and the resulting surface is perfectly flat within a minute. I suspect it will last me for decades, I even took it to work and sharpened the kitchen knives over a lunch break with it.

I know a bit about knife sharpening but it can get confusing with all the options available today. Got a hair shaving edge in 10mins using this lightly. The edge looks clean without scratches, really great. The DC4 would be a better option for a really worn edge but for anything with low to medium wear this is perfect.

It reminds me of the phrase: does what it says in the tin. Only it hasn’t got a tin, it has a leather pouch and the rough side is a good strop. This is a part of my edc that I wouldn’t be without. It adds next to no weight and keeps your kit honed to perfection. If you haven’t used one before there’s lots of videos on the web. Give it a go.

Well made and effective. I tried it on blunt but good quality Wusthof knives and I'd still be here weeks later if I'd have kept using it. My fault. I didn't realise that this is so fine it's like trying to hone with a wet lettuce leaf. Brilliant for absolute final polishing\honing, can't fault it, but it'd take you a year to hone from blunt to sharp. I ended up buying their DC 4 whetstone which sharpened them back to razor sharpness then I used this to final polish the blades. It's worth buying the two to be honest and you can fetch your knives from blunt to razor like (and I mean razor like) and as good as factory finished
