It does its job and even a fifteen pound cat can’t move it to rip up the carpet anymore. The material is a good thickness and my cats cannot scratch the carpet though it.The only con is that it can slide. We have it halfway on carpet and halfway on wood. I have slipped on it.

Bought 2 of these to protect our carpet underneath doorways after we saw how well the first one did! The material is sturdy, and can withstand scratching pretty easily. The material is also not too thick; where it would render the door getting stuck. I have had no issues with the mat blocking the door at all! The other plus I’ll mention is that you can cut the material fairly easily to fit your doorway. For those of you with pets who love to scratch by doorways, this is a MUST have! This is so convenient to have if you have cats!! It is clear and rather unnoticeable in appearance, which is great. It was a little wider than the door I have, but it was easy to cut to fit my door.So far, it has been scratched, vacuumed over, walked over, and ran over by cats and it is holding up very well. It has been able to stay in one place, so it is very wonderful to have. I will be buying another one next time I move! Knowing that your cats can’t tear up your carpet is such a nice think to know. I highly recommend this purchase for renters to purchase if they want their security deposit back. It has been well worth my money.

The floor mat to protect the carpet was wonderful! The appearance is nice, and it’s sturdy material.As for the tape, I put the tape on the door and my cat scratched right through it.I would suggest maybe doing more than one layer on your door. I’ll be adding a few more layers on to see if that does anything.

I'm gonna be honest, I feared it would look tacky but it really doesn't! I cut it really well imo. Just requires patience and good measuring when cutting. I didn't use measuring tape or anything, just eye- measured. I was a bit worried it wouldn't work on my half carpet, half wood entrance, but it's doing well!Since it comes rolled up, I flattened it for 1.5 days under two heavy litter boxes haha
