Patriot P220 SATA 3 256GB Internal Solid State Drive 2.5” - P220S256G25

I installed this Patriot P220 512GB SSD in my old laptop and it’s a total transformation. Booting up used to feel like watching paint dry, but now the system fires up in seconds. Opening apps, browsing files, and even doing light photo editing is noticeably quicker. I also tried it in a small budget desktop I had built, and it really made the machine feel more modern without spending a fortune. Installation was straightforward....the 2.5-inch form made it a snug fit in both devices. No adapters needed were needed for the laptop, and no weird compatibility issues, just plug and play. For the desktop, I needed to get a 3.5-2.5 conversion adaptor so that it could be securely mounted. Energy efficiency is a nice bonus too; my laptop seems to run cooler and the battery lasts a bit longer compared to the old HDD which used to get very hot and made a lot of chugging noises. Performance-wise, it’s solid for everyday use and ideal for typical tasks office work, streaming, light gaming, even managing a photo library, it’s more than enough. The read/write speeds make a real difference over mechanical drives, and the system feels far less sluggish. It’s perfect for breathing new life into older laptops, adding a fast boot drive to a desktop, or anyone wanting a simple, affordable speed boost. Overall, this SSD gives you a noticeable performance upgrade without emptying your wallet. It’s reliable enough for everyday use, easy to install, and makes older hardware feel surprisingly fresh. Highly recommended if you want a smooth, budget-friendly speed boost. Going from 4 minutes to 12 seconds boot up time is amazing, and all this with just a drive change... no other upgrades.

I have bought quite a few of this product over the years. It is consistent in working well and delivering sound data storage either as a PC hard drive or a back up storage device. It does not heat excessively when transferring large volumes of data to and from it and it 'appears' immediately when connected to any PC device for ease of installation, whether it is Windows or Mac. The speed of the data transfer is good and definitely comparable to dearer brands of the same size device. I am more than happy to recommend it as a value for money data storage or PC upgrade product

Working great as the OS disc for my Dell Optiplex SFF PC which is going to be given to 2 of my nieces for school work. Fast, Quiet and perfect size for them. Price is amazing as well, well worth the money.

Why did you choose this product over others?: When my SSD Failed on my media server I was looking for a product that was kind to the bank just to keep me going. I have to say this device has been brilliant, great value for money and the quality has been great. I’ve had no issues whatsoever. I would definitely buy this brand again 10/10 Buy with confidence

Have purchased 3 of these so far. 2 x 2TB and this one. Not the fastest compared to the likes of Samsung but good solid drives with better than average speeds which are ideal for backup purposes which is why I use mine. If you are purchasing as a system drive it still is a good option compared to HDD's but nowadays considering that the cost of NVME's is little different to SSD's I would recommend these as backup drives for personal files. Huge amounts of space for little outlay. Highly recommended for the above.

This SSD failed well within its advertised 3-year warranty, and neither the product nor Amazon’s support lived up to what was promised. I bought this Patriot P220 1TB SSD from Amazon on 4 July 2023. It was installed as a secondary drive in a Minisforum mini PC that is rarely used — I primarily use two desktop PCs and an M4 Mac mini. This drive has had an easy life. At 29 months old, the drive has failed. It is detected by the system, but any attempt to format it results in a constant I/O error. I’ve confirmed the fault by testing it in two separate desktop PCs via SATA and again in a USB enclosure. Same result every time. The drive is dead. Patriot advertise a 3-year manufacturer warranty, and their own website instructs customers to contact the authorised reseller first. I did exactly that. Amazon’s response was to wash their hands of it, dismiss the warranty, and push the problem elsewhere — despite being the point of sale. To make matters worse, I originally paid £35 for this drive. Replacing it now would cost £105. I’m not asking for a favour — I’m asking for the warranty to be honoured on a lightly used drive that failed early. I’ve bought three Patriot drives (one from another retailer), but after this experience I have zero confidence in either the product reliability or Amazon’s willingness to support items they sell once they’re outside their arbitrary internal window. If you expect warranty support to mean anything, think twice before buying this.

For an entry level SSD, it’s all you need . Good speeds, reliable, good bang for your buck, easy to install, it’s just an all round good SSD for the price.

Needed an SSD for my Eufy homebase and saw this was cheap. It's a brand that I trusted as they have been around a long time and have had Patriot drives in the past. Works exactly as expected, and doesn't seem to get too hot (which some drives do). If you want a cheap drive for a homebase, then this one works great.

Using this brand SSD for 3 months.those who want to their laptops faster they must buy this product without any hesitation. This SSD is DRam SSD ... inbuilt ram....don't go for Dramless SSD ....this product is amazing and useful for those who want a faster laptop...I recommend everyone only use this SSD ... affordable,brand , quality and useful.install and enjoy and pray for my sucess.♥️..I also thanks amazon for having such best and affordable products..

Funktioniert wie erwartet einwandfrei. Langzeiteigenschaften sind nach wenigen Wochen Einsatzzeit natürlich noch nicht zu beurteilen.
