YALP89CH Security Lock, Polished Chrome, 60

Full marks to Yale's installation instructions and quality lock. Installation was a breeze (45 mins) and the lock both sides looks great. I was contemplating installing the finger hook on the outside, but that meant I only had approximately 6-7 mm of the spindle showing and would have needed to use a 45mm countersink wood drill to reduce the overall thickness of the door to give the spindle more leverage. So I ended up skipping the countersinking on balance and the job was more straightforward. Enjoyed fitting the lock and staple which involved very basic carpentry skills with ruler, set square, chisel and mallet. I drilled the 32mm hole from both sides of the door to avoid exit splinters, which has done the job nicely. The key mechanism works as it's supposed to, my only grip is I wish Yale had provided four keys instead of the 2 in the pack. If I require more keys, which I will, cos I'm a "just in case kind of guy", this will increase the overall cost of the unit by approx £15-£20. Otherwise, this is a good buy and I highly recommend this lock.

Yale is a Very good make and this is a very good lock easy to use and very strong 10/10

My old lock broke (not a Yale) and I needed to replace it without too much fuss. Lock arrived before the expected date (which was great) and fitted that day. Lovely looking and really smooth action and I was able to keep the old lock barrel so no need to swap keys and have spares cut. I think it’s very good value for the price.

Very pleased with my purchase, was really easy to replace my very old yale lock with this one and it was my first time replacing a lock, wasn't at all stressful and was pretty straight forward and rewarding!! I had no problem getting extra keys cut which didn't break the bank, a bit dearer than other keys but the locksmith explained that was because it is a very good quality lock. In addition to this I mentioned that others had said they could not get keys cut for this lock and he said that it was probably because it was a new lock and the keys are not normally available to around 6 months later ( I know not helpful) but that probably explains the earlier reviews stating they were unable to get keys cut!! Glad I did as my new shiny lock looks great and secures our home.

Love this Yale lock as the last one was a lever one and was ok but did not look great, this is a silver chrome so nice, I am now forced to re-decorate my front door. Features is the internal lock which I love, as i did have this before but had to use a key which is not safe in case of an emergency, now with just a simple push down with my figure and no chances of locking myself out when emptying the bin 5 stars plus as I can use this feature to hold the lock.
