Best chainsaw I have owned. I have owned many other brands (Stihl, Craftsman, Echo, etc.) - this is the best. Starts easily, cuts well. Great value. Highly recommended.

I originally ordered a Stihl MS 271 and asked for it to be shipped to my local Stihl dealer, 2 miles from my home. There was a promo to get the carrying case for free and an extended warranty.However, without telling me, the local dealership decided not to honor the promotion or my purchase from Stihl's website. They canceled the order without telling me, leaving me without the tools I needed a few days before I needed them for time-critical work. I had to fell a dead tree before an outbuilding was placed on the property, where later felling would be impossible.Amazon came through by delivering my Husqvarna 455 Rancher in about 4 days, allowing me to finish the work on time. This saw is rugged, hig quality, and cuts like butter. The vibration system works great, and I like that it's steel springs versus rubber dampeners. Also, the saw felt more substantial in the hand than the MS 271, which felt a bit light and cheap to me at the store where I learned they had cacneled my order wihtout telling me.The Stihl dealer explained that they didn't honor online promotions, then offered to sell me the same saw for $100 more with no accessories included. He also failed to provide the safety chaps I had ordered, and did not offer an excuse. This complete failure of customer service totally negated Stihl's value proposition of providing local customer service, and Amazon beat them in every other way by delivering this excellent product on time.

As someone who cuts alot of wood an fells trees often i look for the best saw possible for the job. Right after buying this saw i went to WNC for search and rescue in black mountain NC an my saw came in great help for gettin access to people as well helping clearing downed trees to aid fire depts highly recommend 👌🏻

Need to cut up some serious things? Need to attack zombies at range? Stupid battery-powered chainsaws meant for weaker wrists let you down? Want to be able to justify wearing plaid? This monstrosity is your bestie. With the 20" X-Cut chain/bar combination you can tackle even the largest most angry of fallen branches. The first day it arrived i topped off all the fluids (it really likes ethanol-free gas) and set to work on clearing some raw land and trimming trees in preparation for building animal pens. I don't know if you have ever been to South Texas, but there are WALLS of foliage and plants, it's tropical here. Even the mesquite trees on my property are the size of oaks with 24" diameter limbs. Mesquite they build tables out of, even dead on the tree the limbs are extremely hard and will destroy lesser chainsaws, forget axes. The first day i cut/trimmed/processed 8 cords of mesquite firewood, and cut down hundreds of spikey brush, hawthorn and persimmon. you practically touch anything under 4" in diameter and it just passes through like a red lightsaber through an old mentor. I love this chainsaw, it makes me happy.

Bought this as we had several big trees to cut after a big stor. Got all the safety gear and once saw showed up followed instructions on how to get started.1. No matter how tight, bar bolts always came off mid-cut(safer issue) I had to buy fresh ones from Home Depot that would prevent coming off from vibration.2. No matter what I do, chain constantly gets loose, resulting in poor if any cut. Will tighten, run saw for few min and then Chain sags. Spend more time retightening, stopping, than getting actual work done.Have watched many videos and other day none of this should happen once saw is broken in. Friend of mine that used saws for years said same thing.I had to also clean the interior because no way after just a few minimal uses that got that dirty. Also had to replace the belt as original one came with just wanting cutting.Really hoped for better. Once I FIXED it seemed to run fine. However to invest more time/$$ n something that should have had minimal setup, new, and saved time was not good.Update Sept 2024Still issues persist, chain flies off regularly now and basically useless no matter what I do. Unacceptable for ‘new’.

This thing is rugged and efficient. It never fails. don't drop your saw, but mine fell from 15 feet. I thought it was done. Picked it up and kept going. I have never used a tougher guy.
