Review: Homeschool essential - what a shame it isn't widely used in UK schools. - I bought this for my very right brained (year 2 aged) daughter on the recommendation of a veteran homeschooler. It teaches 'how' to think instead of 'what' to think like the UK systems do. I've bought the other books at this grade level, including 'mental maths' and my daughter has become lightening fast with her calculations, far beyond her peers. Her confidence is through the roof and maths is now her favourite subject! She is still very creative, but is much more balanced now. We'll be continuing with this method until the very last book. My only disappointment with this series is that it doesn't start with reception age material. Review: Great book for practising maths at home - My son is in year 1 and although we don't get any homework from school, I wanted to be able to do a bit of maths with him at home. I bought this book because his school use the Singapore maths system which I had never come across before. The book is great, it has lots of exercises and questions to work your way through and you can just do a page or two at a time.

Definetly a worthwhile purchase.
Great content which has worked wonders for my 7yr old, who is generally against maths. Bought the 1st one as a means towards developing his confidence before progressing onto the harder levels. The chapter reviews are also great for consolidating learning which has been acquired.

Therefore I would say this is a great buy. He is seven and it is easy ...
My son, who hates doing any extra work outside school picked this up and has been doing it voluntarily. Therefore I would say this is a great buy. He is seven and it is easy for him, but it reinforces simple partitioning which is useful for more difficult maths and it has given him confidence too.

Excellent! Suitable for my 5 year old.
Very good book. My 5 year old does a few pages of this now and then. (We are British, but living in the Philippines) and he is in kindergarten at school. This presents concepts well and it's all very pictorial so easy to understand. He enjoys it. It seems to be for readers, so I need to read it to him, but he grasps the ideas well. I will continue with this series.

Excellent
My daughter has really enjoyed working through this book at home. She is in year 1 and although this book started off a little easy for her it has got progressively harder. Her maths has improved already but more importantly she has lived working through the book in her own time without the pressure of being in a class environment.

Superb resource
My son has just started the UK Singapore Maths curriculum at school (in year 2) - 'Maths No Problem!'. Because it's quite a different way of teaching maths to the traditional British way, I wanted to reinforce some of his earlier year 1 maths, but in the 'Singapore' style. This book is ideal for doing so. We do a few pages most days at home, skipping over bits when he's grasped the approach. Highly recommend this book.

1A and UK standards
I'm a homeschooling mum for my two kids, 1st and 2nd grades in London, UK. The item arrived on time . The item description says for 2nd grader but it only suites a 1st grader who knows the numbers and it will not be very hard for 1st. I like the style of the book, so i'm going to order the higher level for my second grader.

Good learning material.
Bought this for my daughter who is in Kindergarten. She's been enjoying doing math worksheets and thought she might give this a try. It's all black and white color. Pictures are not colored but for me it's okay.

Great for Kindergarten or Grade 1
This book is really great but it’s definitely not a Grade 2 level. I would use it for a first grader who’s at grade level or a kindergartner who’s at an advanced level. It’s also great for supplementing your main Math curriculum.
