GBX Men's 167211 Sandal

Chose this rating because they may have to be returned. Hubby looked far and wide for a shoe just like this one, ordered his regular size. The shoes just arrived this morning and look better than the picture. He was thrilled until he tried it on - and his foot could barely get into the shoe, while wearing a tightening sock. His small toe couldn't get past the second space between the side-to-side straps! His foot couldn't get near the toebox - It seemed impossible. Gradually, though, in the last hour, the leather has warmed and allowed his foot to slip into the shoe. It occurred to us that the leather could gradually warm and conform to the foot. We are a short time into our "experiment," hoping we are right. The foot has gradually slipped into the shoe and is almost there. Now, will the shoe adapt to its new owner? We hope so! Watch this space for the outcome! If it does not get better by tonight or tomorrow, they will have to go back. I do not want to search for more sandals, and this is exactly what he was looking for.The answer in a couple of days! Otherwise, fast delivery, item just as pictured and just what he wanted. If only they fit! Stay tuned... Aug 10th ...Well, sadly, the sandal was not inclined to fit, and we were not inclined to try to force it. Having stared at the design, we are amazed any foot fits in there. Hubby found the entry into the shoe impossible. He wanted this style because he had a pair of 'fisherman sandals' that he loved for years. We don't want to waste the shoe's time, so back they go. Would say it is made well, very solid, but probably needs a very slim foot to enter the shoe and then be wearable. Have not spent this much time on any shoe in years! It probably works for someone!

These sandals appeared to be very well-made and exactly what I wanted. Based on reviews in which many said they run small, I ordered a half size larger than my normal shoe size to compensate. Even so, they were too tight to wear so I returned them to Amazon. Rather than playing "tag" with trying an even larger size, I'll just let this purchase go for a while. Amazon is a pleasure to deal with for returns, credits, and all the rest. Thanks, Amazon! *************************UPDATE***********************I dropped the hammer and bought another pair of these but one size larger than my normal size. When the package arrived, I couldn't wait to see if they fit. When I tried them on, I was in heaven! Not only did they fit perfectly, they are the most comfy sandals I've ever owned! The foot bed is nicely padded and the leather is very soft and supple. I changed my original rating of 3 stars to 5 since they fit so well and are just what I was looking for. I'm really happy for those who ordered their normal size and they fit. In my case, they didn't but now I'm a happy camper! I hope I get years and years of dependable service and wear from the sandals but at their low price, wouldn't hesitate to get another pair, now that I know which size I need. They are highly recommended.

The look and finish is as might be expected at this price-point. However, the design and application of the sole, which leaves much of the heel, toe and mid sections of the tan material totally exposed to wear and tear. Look at the photo of the sole in the product info and you will readily see what I mean. Since so much of the bottom material is not protected as with most other shoes/sandals, my pair have worn through to the inner layers of material. And this is after only a few short walks on regular, clean sidewalks and streets! This little bit of use has made my sandals embarrassing to wear especially because the worn heel and toe sections are readily visible. It is only a feeling but the safety of this design after the material begins to wear off on the sole, might be a little risky for some of us. These sandals might be appropriate if sold as indoor slippers; or if sold as somekind of moccasin; however, as a shoe they fail miserably. Save your money

We originally found this style at a shoe store and bought these prior to our vacation last summer. My husband loves these sandals and asked me to track down a new pair for this year's trip. I found them here on Amazon for less than what we originally paid.Pros:- Comfortable- Breathable- Sturdy (my husband wears shoes pretty hard. He still wears the pair he bought last year...still holding up very well).- True to size- Practical- Stylish

Don't get these wet with water! The black comes off and stains your skin!! It doesn't wash off with soap and water either, I had to use alcohol and the some of stain remained because it got wet on a camping trip and by the time I got back and used the right product, it had sunk in. Also it squeaks when I walk around my quiet office and on long trips--my feet hurt. Yes, I'm a woman, but getting a sturdy closed toe black sandal isn't as easy as it looks so I often by men's shoes. As you see, I failed here too.

Great looking sandal. I've worn a previous version of this sandal for years and I've been very happy with them. However, I cannot fit my foot into these sandals which are labeled the same size. They are way too narrow. At this point I have no confidence a large size will fit me well. Too bad.

Love these for my husband. We have ordered them for two summers now. He is 11 1/2 and in these he wears a 12. The only thing is they only last one season and wear out fast due to the sole and construction but they look much more expensive than they are so I will continue to order them every summer

Good, then the damn dog chewed up the plastic buckle. So now I can only wear with long pants. Says something if I am still willing to wear them other than I am cheap.
