RONSEAL DPN5L Decking Protector Natural 5 Litre

Easy application, used on Siberian Larch decking after cleaning with Ronseal Decking Cleaner which I would also recommend.Decking fairly new but muddy footprints/pawprints needed to be removed and the decking cleaner did the job!Next day, was lovely and sunny, so perfect day for this job! I used a large paintbrush as sponge didnt get into the grooves on the decking.As you can see in the picture, it doesn't colour the wood but it does enhance it and leaves it a nice warm shade.When water dropped on decking it forms droplets so hopefully this means it is now waterproof.After 2x coats o even had enough for my summerhouse which was a bonus!!All done in a day.

Dont be put off by the dirty muddy coloured appearance of the contents - trust me it will turn natural as it dries. This is an excellent product that I used on my decking and wooden gates. I would suggest 2 coats as the first one will soak in to the wood and the second will then provide that final protection. We have had torrential downpours and frost overnight since I finished and so far the protector is clearly doing its job Coverage wise you will get more from the second coat but I would say the coverage stated on the tin is fairly accurate. Just remember if you are working on something upright like a gate it is quite thin and will run down if applied to heavily

This decking protector is satisfying to use (once you have scrubbed and cleaned your decking with an appropriate product). You can literally see the wood absorbing the liquid as you brush it on and it has a purposeful smell to it, like it means business. It rained the day after I applied it and, well, the picture proves it does indeed do what it says on the tin...

Great delivery with UPS boxed and sealed. Was alot larger of a tin as I expected but great!Applied it straight after receiving it, and looks great. Ive never used it before but seemed good when using.I gave it 4 out 5 becouse the tin was different to the one in the picture, however it still was Ronseal.Time will tell to see weather it worked.I posted a picture of the natural colour after I applied it. As a friend made me some garden sleepers out of decking wood.

Very happy with this product massive area coverage from this tin to cover my decking, i'd say it's twice as much coverage compared to cheaper brands.Very easy to apply using a paintbrush and easy to clean brushes once finished, decking beads up nicely with water drops after it's rained now showing that it provides good protection.

I used this product to treat my shed.For use direct to wood I don't think this product would work over the top of fence paint.I wanted something clear so I could still see the wood grain but protceted in the winter months.Used it also on sleepers to weather proff them.Drys with a very slight colour shade leaving the wood grain showing.

It is too early to say how good the product really is as time will tell, but early signs are good.It retains the look and grain of the wood and puts a waxy coating on top. That is the bonus; decking is no longer slippy when wet, you almost stick to it in fact.It is a bit more fiddly to apply as you need to add a second coat before the first is completely dry. That means standing on the bit you covered when it is still a bit tacky.Overall very happy so far and if it lasts all year, I will purchase again.
