Bemka.com Spanish Herring Wild Caviar, 7-Ounce Tin

This product was delivered on time and in excellent condition. Although I am very familiar with many types of caviar, from Beluga to whitefish, this was the first time that I have tried Herring caviar. I was not very happy with this caviar; however, I believe that this is because I don't like Herring caviar, rather than this being a poor example of that type of product. Unlike most caviars, the individual eggs were soft, without any "pop" or mouth-feel that is typical to other caviars. The flavor was less distinctive, clearly reflecting a herring-like flavor, but more subdued than herring and insufficient to hold its own when served on crackers or with any accompaniments. It was inoffensive and we were able to eat most of it; but its consistency and taste were not favorites. On the plus side, there were no artificial colors or additives besides very minimal salt. I will probably seek other types of caviar in the future.
