Ok but pages are more loose and a thick soft texture. It didn't seem sturdy enough to be tossed around in a bag or pack.

The product is done beautifully. I was surprised at how light the color was. It is still great and the paper is absolutely perfect.

I debated and debated about whether to buy this journal. Read and re-read the reviews (which I realize now must have been written by seven year-olds.) I decided to order it b/c I've been wanting a nice leather journal that looks really old and cool and, well, expensive. This journal arrived in the mail today and two words came to mind to describe it: "rinky-dink." It looks like something you'd get at Disney World or maybe Epcot at the "Native American" gift shop. Aside from the fact that it looks cheap, it smells awful. The "leather" (that must have come from some cheap Euro-trash cows) has been treated with some dreadfully disgusting chemical that makes my dog wanna pee on it. I actually feel sorry for this journal- it's so pathetic. I'm not a leather expert but why does some leather feel dry and cold while some feels "fuzzy" almost? Well this feels like the fuzzy velvety (suede?) kind and that's not what I was expecting. This book definitely does not look old or cool and certainly does not look expensive. It doesn't look handmade and therefore unique but instead looks mass-produced. It would be appropriate for kids who want to have a journal to take to summer camp. I don't think anyone serious about journaling would want to use this. It's just too difficult to take this book seriously. It's cute but not dazzling. And certainly not worth $30+... it looks like it should be about $9.99 at Target.

I really enjoyed the feel and look of the journal. The unlined pages make it easy for me to make my sketches and add notes anywhere on the page. The leather binding is awesome with a good smooth texture and feel to it. The single long lace that ties it shut is long enough to easily wrap it around the book and securely hold anything else you may place in the journal. I have noticed that when using a pencil (which I always do) the small pieces of graphite left behind while writing will smudge the page as you brush it off with your hand. I prefer to gently blow on the page to remove graphite and eraser residue to keep the page as clean as possible.

Although the item was beautiful and all that was advertised, I purchased it hoping that the paper would work for a fountain pen, as I write and draw with them. I might suggest adding some part to your description that would let one know that it won't work for fountain pen. You do mention that the paper is hand made which is usually a hint that it is too rough a surfaced to accept fountain pens. Only one item in the leather bound journal category on Amazon mentioned "good for fountain pen."

I ordered this journal as a gift to give to a friend. I thought it looked handsome and would be suitable as a journal/art reflection piece. I envisioned this as a gift that would last as a memory keeper. I was not disappointed when it arrived. The leather is exactly as is stated and the entire journal feels like a classic keeper. Well done! I would definitely recommend to others.
