Easy to install, works well
I had been looking at installing a regular double din car radio into an older car of ours but just never could find the time to go through the installation. Instead, I decided to just go with one of these dash mounted ones, and that might be the best decision. The ability to just stick it onto my dash anywhere or stick it onto my windshield makes it easier to get a good view of the screen in a safer manner instead of peaking down at it. Installation wise, it was mostly plug and play to get the main radio set up. You just must clean the area you want to stick it to and then you just stick it as if it is a dashed mount for a phone. The power cable is just a regular cigarette lighter plug that has a usb on it, so you do not completely lose that port. If you want to use the car speaker instead of the built in ones, all you must do is either plug in the provided aux cable or connect it to a Bluetooth transmitter. There is a third option of connecting it through the FM radio in the car, but I have found that it does not work too well, especially when you make a phone call. For one hundred dollars, you would expect something like this not to include car play or android auto, but this model does have that, which makes it a useful buy. Assuming your phone supports it, which most do nowadays, you can link your phone to the dash and use either wired or wireless Car play or AA, which is rare for such a cheap system. This model comes with a back-up camera which is a useful accessory. In the day it works very well, being able to see a good amount of the surrounding area behind the car and not just tunnel visioning you into one area. At night you lose next to no visibility and can still navigate using the camera. My only gripe with the camera is that it is not wireless. Typically, this is not an issue with double din radios as they are a more permanent install, but it can be a little annoying on something like this. For the camera to work you must run a wire from the radio to the trunk of the car, which you can hide under the flooring of the car. Once you get it to the back of the car, you will need to do some soldering or twist wire together which might be a turn off too many but is not too hard to do. I only wished the camera would connect wirelessly to avoid this and could take it out and put it into another car.

An easy, quick conversion for my radio
Works great completely wireless with my iPhone X. There is no lagging between airplay or mirrorplay (plugged in) on my iPhone and charges fairly fast. It boots up automatically to CarPlay and has different car logos to choose from as a start up screen, which is nice. Takes about twenty seconds to load up. Screen is bright and easily adjustable. Audio sounds much louder than what my iPhone did with the same aux cord. Would definitely recommend this for the lazy people in the world.

Great could be better
So this carplay unit works perfectly. Auto connects to my phone and another once the car is started. Doesnt take long to get it up and running after start. Auto is better than a Bluetooth received I had previous. My only issue is the mirroring . It was not easy to set up on an apple device we got it to work on an andriod after some messing around. Wish it was better here. I did not install the back up camera as that was more complex than need and not worth the extra work, as the instructions where not very clear or helpful.

Very disappointed
I was really excited for this and now I’m so annoyed with it. It doesn’t always connect with my phone so I have to unplug the power and plug it back in. The other half the time it connects but I have no audio when playing music and usually have to unplug the audio cord. I was never able to connect it to FM radio to transmit that way. So not worth the money even with the coupon I had. If I’m going a short distance in town it’s not even worth getting it going, since it can take 5 minutes to get it all connected and working most of the time.

Finally, Android Auto when car makers refuse to support it
The media could not be loaded. We thought newer cars would start incorporating both Android Auto and Car Play support going forward, but Android Auto is always on the cusp of going away. Our van supports both via USB, but our other car only supports CarPlay. We weren't going to switch phones just for this, so we tried to look for one of these interface tablets that specifically supports both. It's a little clunky to have to add another gadget just to use this feature, but it's been worth it.Firstly, it actually works wirelessly. I didn't even do anything, eventually it just connected to my phone via bluetooth and started running Android Auto on its own. Maps was there, Audible & Spotify was there. Well, all the apps live on the phone anyway, Android Auto just beams it to this.... receiver (I still don't know what these things are called)? Usually we plug it in to the USB so that it runs faster and also charges our phones. But it's nice to have seamless connection wirelessly. The audio however, is pretty bad. It's not a big device, so you can't expect great sound quality coming out of this thing. We had to plug in the aux cable to play the audio out of the car's sound system to improve the sound. So, another clunky cable to route. The next important part is the mounting system. At first, I dreaded it because it was another suction cup mount. Which tend to fall off, melt and degrade over time. This suction cup is lined with a reusable adhesive (just wash off any dirt to make it sticky again), this means we can attach it not just to glass, but to the dashboard as well. This was important, because I didn't want to mount it to the windshield and block visibility. Plus, the cables aren't long enough to hide and route all the way to the windshield anyway. We also wanted to keep our existing dash cam, which requires its own power source. Luckily, it's just a USB cable that can be plugged into this tablet's power supply. So it works out in this car. This tablet also comes with a license plate mounted dash cam. Again, we didn't use it as it's more wiring and we already have a dashcam system.Things that would make this product better:I don't know how they would do it, but a better mounting system and cables to make this tablet feel more integrated with the vehicle than this sticky suction cup mount. The whole point was to make CarPlay & Android Auto feel like a part of your car. A suction cup mount really limits where it could go, even though the adhesive lining does open up more possibilities. Also, a more integrated look may not attract break ins.Again, I don't know how they could do it, but an AUX cable is not an ideal way to connect the audio. The built in speakers on the tablet is just too crappy. Maybe they could get it good enough so you don't have to wire it to the car's audio system.Nore: The video makes it look like it's slow or not very responsive. It's actually faster than this in regular use, it's just slow because I'm also recording video with the phone while it's connected (via Bluetooth). Turns out you can connect via WiFi as well.
