Fun animal mystery! Loved it
My little sister loves The Nocturnals! I bought her the Mysterious Abductions as a gift and she was having so much fun with the quirky characters, she insisted I read it with her. Bismark (my personal favorite) stands out, especially in contrast to the serious and determined Dawn. And Tobin is so sweet and wholesome. I loved the way we got to see the characters’ different personalities interact with each other! This book has educational potential (especially for kids interested in unusual animals) and it delightfully asks readers to extend their imaginations. The mystery of the book was also well-done: the way the story unfolds allows readers to really feel the suspense build as more animals go missing (but without being too scary) I was genuinely curious, and impressed that I was in the dark (Nocturnals pun intended) while reading too!We will definitely be reading more books in the series.

Great bedtime book!
Kids who like animals will love this mystery! It’s great for a read aloud–the characters are funny, the chapters are short, and the plot moves quickly. There was an unexpected environmental twist to the mystery that I really enjoyed, and the fun facts in the back were a big hit.Highly Recommended!

A wonderful new children's series
A wonderful new children's series! Not only is the story compelling enough to interest anyone of any age, but the clever introduction of more adult vocabulary insures a these books will be as educational as they are entertaining. Furthermore, the friendship between Dawn, Bismark, and Tobin shows children (and perhaps reminds adults...) that even the most unlikely of compatriots can become best friends when they work together and have their hearts in the right place. Bismark is endlessly entertaining and laugh out loud hilarious. Tobin is gentle and kind, all the while revealing a quiet strength. Dawn, as the stoic, maternal, and fearless leader of the Nocturnal Brigade, brings the group together. I cannot recommend this book highly enough!

Cute bedtime chapter book
Cute book. My kids are 3 & 5 and this is the first chapter book I’ve read with them at bed time. I wanted to try a chapter book with them & since one likes Pangolins & the other likes Foxes, hoped they’d get into this story. It’s a cute read & chapters are short. My little one likes it more but they both stopped complaining after a few days. It’s made bedtime a little easier as they know I want to read this book versus going thru the hullabaloo of each of them picking out 1 or 2 books & elongating the whole process. We’ve finished this book & have started the 2nd one in the series.

Great for Book Club
I use this book for my high leveled readers. They love this book and we enjoy discussing it together. Only downside is some of the words that Bismark say are hard for my students to understand, but that's understandable as they're second graders.

Great chapter book to read aloud at bedtime!
I bought this book to read with my seven year old daughter. She is reluctant to read on her own but adores listening to me read chapter books. This is a cute book filled with adorable characters. The vocabulary is impressive - while my daughter would not understand it on her own, I enjoy broadening her vocabulary by reading it together. We look forward to reading other books in the series.

Wonderful start to a series--full of mystery, laughs, and adventure!
Absolutely loved this book! The Nocturnals is the tale of three friends--Tobin, a sweet pangolin, Dawn, a wise fox, and Bismark, a hilarious sugar glider--who, together, solve mysteries in the night. In addition to being educational, the book is intelligent, witty, and charming... and Bismark literally had me laughing out loud. With its short chapters and numerous cliffhangers, the book will certainly captivate middle-grade children. All in all--a fun, joyful read that emphasizes the power of collaboration and friendship. Sure to be a great success!

What a beautiful book!
So refreshing to read something to my 8 yo daughter that has an innocence and beauty to it while absolutely entertaining! Biskmark the sugar glider steals the show and makes you laugh together, while Fox is the sensible one and the pangolin is compassionate and gentle. I will continue this series with my daughter as a read aloud together because I am enjoying this time with her on the journey of this story!
