Logitech G300s Wired Gaming Mouse, 2,500 DPI, RGB, Lightweight, 9 Programmable Controls, On-Board Memory, Compatible with PC / Mac - Black (German Packaging)

Let me start this review by stating that I have already owned two Logitech G300 mice prior to purchasing the g300s, so I have spent some hours using them. I am a left handed mouse user and have always needed a symmetrical/ambidextrous mouse, thankfully nowadays us lefties have a reasonable choice of mice to pick from, from the likes of Logitech,steelseries,Zowie,Mionix and Roccat to name a few, back in the day we were not always so lucky. However out of all the mice I have tried the g300 iterations have become a firm favourite with myself, they are immensely comfortable for long term use and I find the term "fits like a glove" to be rather appropriate as once your hand is in position and fingers and thumb in the indented rubberized side grips this mouse feels little more than an extension of your hand. I must admit I play "palm grip" style when gaming and I simply have not been able to find another mouse that offers similar comfort with allowing you to access all buttons without them being accidentally knocked in game. The sensor if off set to bottom left of the mouse and this is cited as a bit an issue for some users when in game (first person shooters). However i found this no problem what so ever. The sensor tracks very well, with no noticeable jitter or negative acceleration, I use my g300s in conjunction with a "Perixx xl mouse mat" and have found it to track very well, with no discernible issues. The supplied logitech driver software is as intuitive as ever, allowing you to adjust polling rates,dpi and profiles for different games/assign different key strokes to the various buttons, as well as the more cosmetic features of the ambient lighting on board the mouse. If you are left handed and require a comfortable,accurate mouse you cannot go wrong, in fact with both the g300 and g300s I have not been this happy then when the company released the old and now discontinued MX300, praise indeed.

As a software developer and not a gamer, I use this mouse all day, every day, and I can say this mouse is excellent. I'm also left handed and find the mouse comfortable to use. Having 3 profiles that I am able to configure the buttons for my day-to-day requirements makes this idea for my job and the fact the profiles are store in the mouse rather that on the PC means I can transport between PC with easy and without the need to configure the mouse on every computer I use. (Just need to install the supporting software). The colour changing lights in the side of the mouse is a nice touch, allowing easy visual confirmation of your current selected profile. (You can select a different colour for each profile). My only criticism would be that I think it would have been better it 2 of the buttons was on each side of the mouse, much like the now discontinued Microsoft Intelli-Mouse Optical.

I purchased these given their drop in price to £15. At this price I'd say that this is an excellent purchase. The build quality is superb and the huge array of buttons would I'm sure make these ideal for gaming, though I use them for programming. Size-wise I'd call these small/medium - perfect for me, though may be too small for some. As a left-hander finding a mouse which fits well is a pain, but the ambidextrous layout of these makes them ideal. The only downside is that back/forward maps to the two buttons on the left of the mouse, and from a little research the buttons on the right map to a *key combination* as opposed to a mouse click (at least on Linux). Had they been bound to a mouse click I would be much easier for me to replicate the behaviour of the left buttons, but I'm sure with a little perseverance it's possible to remap them.

Very nice mouse, though for my system It has a minor issue, more with the software then the mouse itself though So the mouse has its own profile and the software "Logitech Gaming Software" allows you to set up different profiles for software etc. However if you want the software profiles up, (for me) I have to open up the LGS window itself to get the mouse to recognize software, the "Run this program when Windows starts" didn't kick the mouse from mouse profile mode to software profile mode. I had another issue with LGS too when it come sto game which didn't ultilize any Illumnation features, by which when I disabled the option for the specific software itself, on the next reboot it reverted back that specfic setting and nothing else. So I just disabled games controlling illumination altogether which seemed to fix this as it didn't revert back after. Wish the software was 100% free of bugs like this but I have now got into the routine of opening up LGS from the start menu when I log in. The mouse uses macro keys, but supports Mouse1-5 (Which I believe is what Windows only recognises anyway) so you can make the other 4 buttons do other macros, or set all of them to whatever you want, or just leave Mouse1-3, whatever you need. It works well in this respect. There are 8 colours to choose from when it comes to illumination however, White, Yellow, Magenta, Red, Light Blue, Light Green, Blue and Black (Which seems to just be "off"), and you can set 3 mode profiles (using a button to switch between them) to allow for more macros for that app. I use it personally for ffxiv, chrome and iTunes with the default profile being for when I am not in those apps. Unbinding Mode Switch kind of disabled the 3 mode profiles per app, though I had to copy each button to each of the mode profiles since I didn't need extra macros. LGS also allows you to set specific DPI settings for the DPI Switching if you require multiple options for this. would be nice if the app profiles allowed you to set DPI per app but can't have it all.

Arrived fast. This is my third one now, perfect for smaller hands. Is all I will buy for myself.

As expected Logitech never dissapointed, I had this mouse for more than 2 years and it's still going great.

Purchased this mouse to replace a aged version of the same mouse. Works a treat and is buttery smooth with movement. Feel great in the hand (hence why I bought the same one again). Highly recomend this mouse!
