Ernst Manufacturing5046 Gripper Wrench Organizer, 8 Tool, Red

I use this to hold and store my combination wrenches. They clip in snugly and is a good way to know whether you have left a wrench "hidden somewhere in the car. It is well constructed and has been in use for about 2 years and still function as new.

SUMMARY: This is a great wrench holder. It can be used in a tool box, hung on pegboard and/or take it with you. But make sure you use it correctly if you hang it (more detail below).DETAILS: I bought two of these holders. A black one that holds bigger to smaller wrenches (top to bottom). And a red one that holds smaller to bigger wrenches (top to bottom). I use one for metric wrenches and the other for SAE wrenches. The two holders hang nicely next to each other on a pegboard (see photo).The thing you need to know is that if you hang the wrench holder, make sure you hang it using the holes on the back of the product. Do not hang the wrench holder by the handle, as that could may break the handle.The holder can be used in many ways. It's easy grab and take the entire holder with you if you want. It can fit in a tool box and/or you can hang it on a pegboard.The wrenches fit securely in the holder. The product is a flexible material. You push the wrench into the provided slots and the holder grips it. I usually use two hands when putting a wrench in or taking it out. The manufacturer says it holders SAE 1/4" to 1 1/8" and metric 6-20mm. I have not tried fitting a wrench in that's larger than 1".As you can see from the product photos, the wrench needs to be long enough to fit into its slots. While I have full set of sizes, they are a bit of a mishmash in terms of different brands (so they have varying lengths). I had two wrenches where I had to switch the order in order to get them to fit.Overall, I am very happy with this product.

It's a wrench organizer. You can hang it, carry it, and wrenches are gripped with sufficient force that they won't fall out, nor will the teeth on the carrier snap off (they're semi-soft and flexible). Other organizers I've had would break or have teeth snap off. Not so with this brand.

Works good could be thicker plastic.

Not ridged, made of softer flexible material which i like and it has a handle for carrying with you, good for the price.

Holds wrenches tight. Convenient handle to carry. You can color code for metric and inch.

Fit all my wrenches well

I loaded it with wrenches from 3/4" down to 3/8". I hung it from the side of my tool rack with the weight being supported by the handle resting on a piece of one-inch wide steel.Two weeks of this was more than she would suffer, and the handle broke right half in two. Wrenches fell down with the holder. I'm not sure if it was designed for long term storage from the handle, but the keyhole slots for the mounting screws are thicker plastic, so the keyhole slot may have fared better.On a positive note, only three wrenches popped out of the holder slots when they fell. Also it scared the dickens out of one of the cats, so that was cool.When the wrenches are resting in the slots, they are about 20 degrees off vertical, facing the ground. I generally put a piece of tape on my wrench handles with the size written in Sharpie. If the wrenches are stored below eye level, sizes are hard to read because they face the floor. If stored above eye level, it's an advantage because they face you

Wanted a method of organizing a set of wrenches because throwing them in a tool cabinet was making it difficult for me to find what i needed. Found these and was initially worried that they would be too hard of a plastic or wouldnt make it easy for me to slot and unslot the wrenches. But so far its been great. Its made of a slightly soft plastic so that the little fingers which grab and "clamp" the wrenches to the holder are soft and hold onto the wrenches very well while allowing the wrenches to also be loose enough to remove easily. So much so that you can carry the organizer like a briefcase, without expecting the wrenches to randomnly fall out, and not just have it sit in your drawer for organization. The organizer is also rather sturdy and rigid despite the softer plastic. I had already dropped it a few times and dropped some heavy tools ontop of it on accident but it held up fantastically. Overall wonderful organizer. I may buy a few more to hold my SAE set or to provide some blessing to friends who may suffer from unorganized wrench syndrome.
