better than water?
yes it is , I know when you first see the price you balk, but get over it. it does exactly what it says on the tin ,when honing it helps the blade to glide over the surface of the stone and when you are finished sharpening a quick spray on the stone ,a wipe and its clean.

Workers well
Works well and I purchased it to keep the warranty on my new Trend diamond stone. Wether window cleaning spray as used by Paul Sellars would work just as well on my diamond stone, I don’t know. Had it been a cheaper stone I would have not bothered with this

Does its job great.
Expensive but will last a very long time. So much better than water on a diamond stone. Very thin mild oil. Does its job great.

fine product, appalling delivery care
Except for the dire warning of the possibility of cancer from contact with the liquid, I cannot fault the product based on how it facilitates sharpening. However, as far as delivery is concerned - the Amazon cardboard container had been seriously damaged and had burst open. It had been resealed using the address label. The box inside had been taped shut at one end and was crushed at the other. Fortunately, the contents, a 250ml bottle of lapping fluid was strong enough to withstand the assault on the packaging. Anything less robust would not have survived.

Great product. Horrible container and applicator
First off the BAD. Rec bottle with loose cap and roughly 1/8 of product had leaked out. The provided cap/applicator allows product to leak out uncontrollably when you only need a small amount. Product also smells heavily of Petroleum. Now for the GREAT. I purchased this product to help protect my diamomd sharpening stones from rust/corrosion. It does this and then some. Previously I would use krud cutter or just water and dish soap as a cleaner/lubricant which from what I could tell worked but caused discoloration. Now that I've used Trend I now know what my diamomd stones really can do. My diamond stones cut MUCH faster, more consistently and they look NEW when iam done. I even used on older existing diamomd stones and Trend brought them back to almost new. Even improved their cutting ability. I will NEVER use anything else on diamomd stones but STRONGLY rec swapping out the container for something more consistent and distributes product more precisely. Will purchase again in hopes I rec a full bottle next time.

Anyone’s Guess
I’m new to diamond stones as well as their lubricants, so I went looking for info. Water good or bad (rust). Water with soap added or a soap thinned with water. Oil or no oil? There are multiple concerns about water, the ability to completely dry your diamond stone and rust. Various oils come with concerns about their molecular thickness because of the size of the diamonds, how much if them is embedded by nickel. Your lubricant can be thick enough to fill the pours of your stone causing whatever your sharpening to float over the diamonds reducing the cutting action.Krud Kutter was highly recommended by one source for being inexpensive, the ideal lubricant, great diamond stone cleaner and rust remover. As I attempt to read between the lines I began to suspect the danger of rust from water might be a bit of a scare tactic. Krud Kutter seemed tempting and this Trend lubricant is the only product specifically manufactured for diamond stone use.Going on the assumption that a little goes a long way this Trend product seems to be the safest choice. As for the cost, I’m not aware of anyone giving away quality diamond stones for free so I’ll protect my investment with this Trend product. As I gain experience I will re-evaluate the need to update my 4 stars. One star deducted because cap was unscrewing itself and leaked as many others have stated (what the hell?). I’m lucky as it appears that not much leaked so I will keep.

Great Lapping Fluid - Aids Tool Sharpening
Here's another annoying example of the format of these surveys or polls do not always dwell on the right attributes of an item being reviewed...above the question rating my impression of "easy to clean" ... lapping fluid is not a cleaner per se - its more like a lubricant to flush metal shavings away while sharpening knives, chisels, plane blades, etc. It's not a "scrubbing bubbles" sort of liquid.

Gosh-Danged Dear
9/2021, NEW, UPDATED: This was listed as 17 oz but the order section reflected a 8.4 oz quantity. I cannot find a 17 oz bottle at Amazon or at EBay, but EBay had a similar discrepancy in the quantity for one listing. I found an out of stock 17oz size at Walmart and then several places wanted ~$45 for the 17. I’m trying Smith’s product for diamonds and while it seems thicker my initial trial went well.SEVERAL YEARS AGO: I resisted buying this stuff for years. I read the reviews and listened to the youtube pieces. I used water and washer fluid but forgot to dry the stones and got lots of rust. So I got this stuff and have been happy ever since. I wake up in the morning with a song in my heart. OK, not so much for music, but it makes the stones cut faster and more smoothly, including the 8k diamond stone. The latter showed the most notable improvement. I'll keep buying it until i discover another fluid that appeals to my miserly nature.
