Good quality
I’m a bit of a loyal purchaser of JW products. This little cup is sturdy and well-made, with no little sharp bits that you get on some other bird cage accessories. The cup sits in the holder with a little twist-lock feature for easy removal when it needs topping up, so you don’t have to remove the whole thing and freak the birds out. It’s easy to keep clean and a good size for smaller birds.Only drawback for me is that the way it attaches to the cage means it sticks out quite a bit, and my Budgie doesn’t seem happy to land on the foothold bit as it’s wobbly, so she sort of comes at it from the side.

Great Item, has solved a problem that most Parrot owners know only too well.
I bought a small one first and it was so successful that I bought the larger one too, and it won’t be the last. This is for a Parrot who thinks her drinking water is a dumping ground for everything, then jumps in to have a shower too! She then started rolling in her pellet dish sending the pellets scattering all over. I was on dishes duty all day long changing and cleaning the stainless steel dishes. Now, with these new dishes it doesn’t happen, yippee. I thought at first she would be scared of them but it is working so well. Well done to the person who designed them, and thank you for quick delivery and service.

Poorly Designed But Okay
I found this feeder impractical for use with a budgie. Maybe I should have bough the smaller size? The design is very complicated, lots of fiddly bits. I gave up and just use a plain plastic bowl instead. It is a bore trying to put this 'clean cup' in and out of the cage several times a day. I think it could encourage people to cut back on daily maintenance and that might cause neglect. I suppose the hood is meant to stop dirt getting into the food or to stop the food causing mess. I think there are better ways of achieving this. With my budgie, I put out a clean towel each morning and sprinkle seeds, pellets, fruit and veg on the towel. He then 'forages' over the towel to get his food. He prefers this to eating from bowls. The mess from the food stays on the towel e.g. chaff gets trapped in the pile of the towel and he wipes his beak on the towel. At the end of the day I shake out the towel and shove it in the washing machine. Effortless. I supply bowls of food and water in his cage but these are back-up supplies and not his daily food. Because he only sleeps in his cage there is no opportunity for the food and water bowls to get soiled. Maintenance is quick and simple, maybe five minutes in the morning and five at night. I can do this (let him out of his cage all day) because I work from home. I guess you have to choose what fits your circumstances, if you go out to work and your bird has to be in his cage for hours during the day then maybe this feeder is for you.

My budgies took to this very quickly
I got these just before my budgies went on holiday to a budgie sitter for a week. I was slightly concerned because they'd only been in the cage for two days and although I'd seen them eating from them, I hadn't seen them drink. However, they do seem to like them, and when we picked them up today we saw one of our budgies drinking so that's okay. I like the fact that you can use them on both vertical and horizontal bars because their holiday cage is horizontal and their normal cage vertical. You can't get an enormous amount of feed in there, but that's no bad thing because it saves them rummaging about and chucking half of it over the floor. A thumbs up from me.
