Easy to read & minimal unnecessary functionality
I already had other brands of digital indoor/outdoor thermometers and find them really useful for seeing the actual temperature outside before you venture out, whatever the weather forecast may say. The indoor temperature is reassuring to know if it's just me feeling too hot or cold! The indoor temperature is sensed from the device itself, wherever it is; the outside temperature is sensed by a couple of metres long wire which you can post out of a window and is thin enough to allow the window seal to close around it. Watch where you put the outdoor sensor as obviously being in direct sunlight gives a false high reading.Advantages: it takes 1 AAA battery so you can use rechargeable ones. It _doesn't_ have a clock, which on my other models is redundant and just annoying to change, even only twice a year for daylight saving time. Plus the display is a good size for reading several feet away across a room. There is a slot on the back to hang it off a screw but the unit is light enough to use blutak.Slight drawbacks: the reset button resets both indoor and outdoor min and max temperatures in one go where my other models allow you to reset just min or max, but this is a very picky point and I don't think I've ever wanted to. The outdoor sensor wire is white which may not blend in with the outside of the building. The alarm function on reaching certain preset max/min temperatures thankfully has only gone off once but it is an unnecessary beeping; a flashing display symbol would be more appropriate.Overall I'm quite happy with it, especially to record our lowest overnight temperature yet: -13'C!

cheap dual temp thermometer
I bought this thermometer with some trepidation as I didn't know if the outside temperature probe wire would go through my windows without being split. As it turns out most double glazing windows have a rubber seal around the frame. This seal has enough give to safely allow the outside probe wire to pass through.Onto the product, I like it. I have found the temperatures accurate, but don't place in direct sunlight. It doesn't come with a AAA battery but I had some lying around. The best thing is being able to compare both inside and outside temperatures.

Reasonable thermometer for the price
This thermometer has had mixed reviews so I thought I would add my experience regarding its accuracy. When I have had the indoor and outdoor probes together their readings ultimately agree to better than 1 degree C, usually to within 0.5 degrees. When the temperature is changing the outdoor sensor is much more responsive to the change in temperature than the indoor - I guess that the indoor sensor is deep within the body of the display unit resulting in there being a lag whilst the body warms or cools before it displays the same temperature as the outdoor probe. This lag is about 30 minutes. For the small amount of money paid I am happy with this performance. My main criticism is not over accuracy, but over how light the main unit is. Without sticking it down with tape or blu-tak a slight motion of the cable from the outdoor sensor is enough to knock the main unit over.Recommended with minor reservations.

Good for simple
I have it sitting on a shelf in my utility room that doesn't have a huge amount of warmth in the winter. I got this for curiosity rather than need, though the ability to pick it up and take it to another room is a nice option even if I haven't actually done that. The display is good, it's not at all heavy. I haven't used any of the other functions. Main reason for only rating as "okay" is because the outside sensor and the main unit sit side-by-side. So you'd think they would read the same temperature, right? The outside one is always higher and varies between 0.8 and 1.1C higher. So I question just how accurate either reading is.But overall it works well for the limited job I expect it to do.

Reliable Thermometer
Since 2011 I had bought this thermometer twice: once in 2011 and then in 2013. It's Jan 2018 now and the second one is still working. To measure temperature outside one has to let the cable (not showed on the picture) outside somehow which was a bit of a puzzle to me at first - I haven't got any holes in the walls that I could put the (thin) cable through. Eventually I got to the conclusion the only option was to have it leaning out of the window. At first I was a bit worried if the cable will 'survive' if I have it leaning outside through a closed window but it seems fine, the thing survived sash window as well as double-glazed plastic one.Capturing temperature seems accurate, when it gets colder/warmer outside and inside the thermometer records temperature accordingly with a delay of maybe 2 min.
