Will the empanadas stay sealed while cooking?

Yes. Deep crimped edges create a tight, even seal to help reduce leaking during baking, frying, or boiling. For dry dough, lightly moisten the edge with water before pressing for a stronger seal.

Can I use store-bought dough or premade wrappers?

Yes. This dumpling maker works with many store-bought dough sheets and premade wrappers. Choose a wrapper large enough for the mold, center it, add filling, then press firmly to seal.

How do I keep the dough from sticking to the press?

Lightly dust the dough or empanada press with flour before use. Avoid overly wet or sticky dough and do not overfill. This helps prevent sticking, improves release, and keeps the crimped edges neat.

How much filling should I add?

Place filling in the center and keep it away from the sealing edge. The deep-belly design holds more filling, while leaving the rim clear helps create a tighter seal and reduces leaking.

How should I clean the empanada maker after use?

Rinse the empanada maker with warm water and mild dish soap soon after use. Clean dough from the crimped edges, then dry thoroughly before storage to prevent residue from hardening in the grooves.
