Not as good as the Linkrunner AT 2000, slow UI and buggy firmware that won't update
My Linkrunner G2 is still under 1yr hardware warranty, but no firmware update is available without a ridiculous maintenance agreement. I quit buying HPE servers because they locked the firmware updates behind support agreements, for context. Aruba switches from HPE are NOT limited like this! I'm quite irritated as I never had a problem when Fluke was running the product line. When WiFi quits working for OTA updates, and the problem I'm trying to fix is the Autotest not pulling a valid DHCP address, that's quite concerning - these aren't cheap devices from BlackBox! When a static IP configuration is applied and there is STILL no connectivity, then it has turned into a very expensive brick. The limited testing functionality that still works includes CDP/LLDP, which I find ironic. The only upside is the kit included two LinkSprinter G2 devices that have been handy for my helpdesk techs, despite being a pain to WiFi connect to. I will be buying a couple of Pocket Ethernet devices and have today ordered a Platinum TNC950DX kit to replace the G2. I suppose I'll give the G2 to one of my electricians that still feels good about Fluke!

Bad bad bad engineering. Bulky, heavy, flimsy.
I will make it short. The good. The LinkRunner G2 does a lot. The first Android based Network tester with promising. The bad: The unit is very expensive. Heavy and bulky. Try not to drop it or $3K kaput. Android OS is outdated. Screen quality is so-so. Feels like you have a cheap smartphone. The volume button broke 1st day of use. Try not to press it hard. Then I removed the MicroSD card and when I inserted back to LinkRunner, I missed the slot and the SD card went into the gap, inside the tester. Had to use a needle to recover it. Bad engineering! If you already have the LinkRunner, just do not touch the SD Card. Simply put electric tape over. And be gentle with Volume Buttons. Do not press the volume buttons like you do on your iPhone. Returned back to store. Netscout has a case opened for broken Volume Button and SD Card Slot. The weight and the other issues makes the unit NOT ready for market and NOT RUGGED for field job. It WILL break. Try not to hang the LinkRunner on a cable. You must hold it or you break it. Has no built in Wi-Fi. You must buy a Wi-Fi adapter. (Edimax) The battery dies fast. Cannot be replaced. Imagine, you on the field call and your battery is dead...
