A Very Well-Made Action Camera
I am a seasoned amateur photographer. I owned several high-end DSLR’s in the past and a Nikon D800 for the last 4 years. I took a risk in purchasing this action camera based on the product descriptions on the website, even though there was no prior product review. The camera and accessories came well packaged in a waterproof hardcover case (Photos 1 and 2). All items were carefully wrapped, and all sensitive surfaces were film protected. The camera and accessories are professionally built using high quality material (Photos 3 to 5). Here is the initial impression opening the package: The manufacturer paid great attention in details. The date and time in the camera was already correctly set. If you live in a different time zone, the camera clock will automatically synchronize with your phone when connected. (See WIFI Connection below.) The camera has one lithium battery pre-installed and one additional backup battery included in the package, both fully charged. The remote controller (for taking photos and videos) has one battery pre-installed and another spare battery in the package. This is impressive! At the time of writing this review, I have played with this camera for a couple of hours. I also went out to take a few sample photos and a short video. Here is what I found. 1. The selfie stick (called monopod in the product description, expanding to 25” long and made from aviation aluminum) is quite light weighted and very sturdy. It has a twist-lock mechanism and can be adjusted to any length between 7’ and 25”. The selfie stick can be attached to a 3-leg heavy base to form a small tripod. This is very handy, versatile and easy to carry around. 2. The two-button remote controller allows you to take photos and videos without having to touch your camera, wherever it is mounted. The controller came with a wrist band for you to wear it on your wrist. 3. The camera comes with a micro USB charging/data cable for charging the battery installed in the camera. When connecting the camera with my computer, I have the option of showing the camera as a USB storage device (for transferring files) or using the camera as a web camera for the computer. The camera also has a micro HDMI port for connecting to TV display with your own cable. 4. The waterproof case is precision fabricated to tightly fit and seal the camera inside. The product is specified for 30M underwater although I have not had the chance to test it yet. The waterproof case comes with one extra back cover with seals just in case you wear it out in the future. When taking the camera out of the waterproof case, you can mount it on a supplied camera mount. Both the waterproof case and camera mount can be attached to bike, car (as a car camera in the car mode), selfie stick/tripod and may other equipment using the supplied accessories. 5. For the camera itself, here is what I found. a. For the sample photos (Photos 6 to 15), I used the lowest resolution (5M or 2592x1944 pixels). The photos look very sharp with excellent contrast and color balance even at the lowest resolution setting. b. For the video sample (Video 1), I used the 1080p 30 fps format and with microphone turned off. The camera has 7 options from 720p 30fps to 4K quality. Again, the video image is of excellent quality with good contrast and color balance. For those who are interested in taking high-quality slow-motion videos, there is a slow-motion mode for 120 fps at 720p resolution. For a typical play speed of 24 fps, this mode gives you high-quality slow-motion videos at 1/5 of normal speed without any need for post processing. c. The camera has built-in WIFI function, where you can connect the camera with your smartphone. After downloading the free app to your smartphone, you can establish WIFI connection between the camera and the phone without going through your WIFI router. (Your phone will lose WIFI connection to your router when you do this.) In the smartphone app, the camera will automatically synchronize date and time with your phone. You can change the camera settings, take photos or record videos from the phone. You can also down load files from the camera to the phone via this WIFI connection. d. Some users might find the user manual too abbreviated, which is something that the manufacturer might want to consider revising when they develop the next model. There are a lot of good features and functions that are worth elaborating in the manual. For me this is not a problem, and I was able to use the camera pretty much right off the box. In conclusion, this is a high-end action camera with good quality of design, material, and workmanship. The initial test shots show excellent quality of photos and videos. I am very happy with the purchase.

In the end, a great camera.
First - fast shipping and arrived in a very secure package with everything intact and in order.Assembly - 1. Directions - The direction book is almost useless. The type is so small that a magnifying glass is required to get the basic functions down for set up. However, I did find that after learning the button sequence on the camera; set up was very easy and I basically threw the book away. 2. Parts - All of the parts and accessories that came with the Camera did not look to be what was required for all of the mounting scenarios described in the product explanation. But once I disassembled everything and laid them out to see, I found that the kit was as it should be and included all required parts. 3. Initial Assembly - Once I was able to see all of the parts, finding mounting availability to be fully accessible. Know that there is a battery that comes in the kit. This is a spare for the remote control. Do not bother taking off the battery cover as it is a time-consuming feat to find out the RC already has a battery.Camera Setup - Learning about the procedure. There are only four buttons located on the camera. In the front next to the lens is the Power button. This button is used for power on and off, entrance into the setup program and exit. On top of the camera is the setup scroll button and on the side are two arrow buttons up and down. These buttons are used together to move from prompt to prompt and screen to screen. Once these are used a couple of times, I found the setup to be very easy. There is an on/off function for the WiFi. The WiFi is engaged by turning the camera on and then pushing the up arrow twice. The WiFi symbol appears in the top of the screen showing activated. It's in the setup screen where the video quality can be set, auto functions, timing, looping, etc.App setup - The Android, Apple app is a little basic and dry. I find that every time I want to sync with the Camera, a full phone restart is required. Not that big of a deal but kind of irritating when things don't sync while driving. The app itself is a bit mundane. While the picture comes in from the camera and looks great, the "start and stop" button controlling "video on and off" sets almost right in the middle of the view. Of course, this does not show on recordings and is only a bit worrisome. Also, when in the Synced phone to camera mode, the remote control does not work. Nor does zoom. I would like to see a better-suggested app from LeadEdge. However, the app does work and operates as necessary to get the job done.Camera use. Once everything has been set up, the camera works great. At the moment I am using it in my truck so that I can get used to the proper workings before our vacation. I am practicing with the remote on and off, syncing with my phone, using the camera to auto on when parked, etc. Also, I am working with the included mic to capture any sounds I want. So, in the end, I am very pleased with the LeadEdge LE6000 Camera. While keeping in mind that a little effort will have to go into the setup, use, understanding and overall learning of the camera, It is a great alternative to a 400 hundred dollar camera that offers pretty much the same results.Likes - Once the camera has been set up and synced for the first time, it's pretty much one-touch operation from there. Only the manual wifi on and off requires anything more than just turning on the camera and letting it go. The case that came with the camera is pretty awesome. It holds everything securely and can be stored under the car seat. All of the parts and adapters needed for almost any mounting ideas are included with the camera.Dislikes - Needs a better, readable manual. Needs explanation of parts as they come put together and how the parts mix and match can't be seen until everything is disassembled and observed. Remote doesn't work with app. Zoom is hard to operate. Was the price of the camera a good one? Absolutely. Can the LeadEdge camera offer the same results as a more expensive camera? Absolutely. Would I suggest this camera to others? Absolutely.

No not buy
Update:After using this camera for about a month I can say it's a piece of junk. I would give it zero stars if I could. Do NOT buy this camera. I have a class 10 sd card. I had the camera format it so there would be no issues.Over 3 days of taking videos only ONE could be played using either Windows media player or VLC. All others had various errors, mostly invalid stream data, or sample errors or other errors.I can get maybe 45 minutes on a fully charged battery.Dont waste your money. I'm going to try and send this back.-------------------Firmware version JL15PD79SR_1.3 Updates 20180830If you disable EIS your video files will be corrupted and cannot be played back. DO NOT DISABLE EIS.The holder for the camera without the water proof case had 2 female inserts on both sides but there is no corresponding mail mount so you can use the unit on the stick or other mounts. I had to take apart one of the mounts to salvage a male thread attach.Have not tried the remote yet.Holding the camera and rotating in my chair at 180 deg in 10 seconds produced some blocking and distortion. I'm not trying to shoot production quality video, just document some work I'm doing. Camera will be OK for what I'm doing and price was very reasonable for what you get. Just remember it's not a gopro or other $$$ camera.
