SEC Pole Hook 125MM BRS S2589

I had to give this 5 stars, because it is well made and exactly as described. However, it is not really ideal for opening and closing Velux windows because the high part of the hook fouls against the board behind the pull bar on the window, preventing the contact between the hook and the bar from pivoting. This means that as you pull down, the bottom of the pole you are pulling on is forced towards the wall as the window pivots. Furthermore, because you can't get a proper grip on the pull bar except when the window is fully closed and locked, if the pull bar mechanism gets pushed back to the ventilation position without the window being fully closed, you can't get it back in the unlock position and will have to resort to fetching a stepladder. Perhaps people who have found this worked well for Velux windows have much steeper-pitched roofs than me.

Functional, inexpensive and looks good. Just need to understand that you need to taper the end of the rod that you attach this to (this is not explained); you will need to have the tools and skill to do do this, or know a good handyman to do it for you (my solution!)

On the upside the item is indeed solid and should I hope last for many years. Don't forget to drill small pilot holes into your handle for the screws. Brass holding screws will heat up very quickly and sheer off if you don't drill pilot holes first. On the downside delivery was incredibly slow despite allegedly dispatching the item 7 days prior to delivery. Good item. Fair price. Delivery sucks.

This hook was bought as a cheaper alternative to the velux handle for our two skylights. it screwed on to a paint roller pole with no problem. It does the job, however you would need to take care as the windows are made of soft wood and therefore could be damaged by the hook if not used with care.

Just what I was looking for. My loft hatch opener came with a plastic hook which had broken twice - the first time I could highly recommend super glue because it held tight for another two years! The second time it broke there was no repairing it. This hook is fantastic. It was slightly bigger than the pole but once it's screwed on it's really tight and there are no problems with wobbliness.

This is a beautiful brass pole hook, but frustratingly is just slightly to narrow to fit a standard broom handle. However, with a bit of nifty whittling, it can easily be installed. The screw holes are offset, which means that once screwed in the hook doesn't wobble. I use mine for a loft hatch, and it does the job perfectly.

J’ai acheté trois de ces crochets pour mettre dans des pièces où les rideaux sont difficiles à placer comme je le voudrais. Les crochets sont solides et bien faits. Il suffit de trouver un bâton de 20 mm pour les attacher (j’ai triché avec les deux premiers – j’ai fixé un sur un petit bâton de 18 mm de diamètre après avoir collé quelques longueurs de scotch autour du bâton et pour l’autre j’ai taillé le bout d’un grand bâton de 24 mm de diamètre avant fixer les crochets avec les vis fournis. Pour les rideaux, ils sont parfaits, et je pense qu’ils vont aussi servir à ramasser des objets perdus dans des coins difficiles…..

J'ai fixé ce crochet sur un manche de brosse pour ouvrir ma trappe de grenier; cela fonctionne bien. Le crochet est costaud et est muni de 2 petits trous pour le passage de vis pour la fixation sur le manche. Le diamètre intérieur du crochet étant juste un peu inférieur au diamètre des manches de brosse que j'ai eu en main, j'ai un peu dû râper/poncer le manche pour arriver à l'introduire dans le crochet. Je trouve ce crochet un peu cher mais je n'ai pas trouvé moins cher pour ce que je voulais faire.

le modèle reçu présentait un défaut d'usinage et d'aspect. Après échange de mails et photos, ils m'en ont aussitôt envoyé un autre gratuitement, parfait celui-là. C'est une belle pièce en laiton poli. Monté sur un manche diamètre 24mm, il me servira à tirer des rideaux en hauteur.
