Ribitech 06563 Horizontal Hand Winch with Cable 4T

Brought this for a specific job to put a large oak branch out that have fallen into a fishing pool.The branch was about 24” diameter Six men could not shift it.Rigged up the Winch and it came out a treat. Pulled it out at a metre at a time and cut it off in sections it took an hour and it was out.

I liked the reasonable price and pulling power. A 4-tonne pull is definitely achievable. Not so good: I didn't find any release mechanism for when the cable was under tension. This is awkward if it is necessary to re-position the winch once a job is in progress.

Works well. Pulling out roots easily. For those unfamiliar with this type of winch, there are no instructions. Only 4 star rating as the release of the ratchet is very stiff, and the cable crimps and exposed handle is rather sharp unless wearing gloves.

Only used a couple of time so far, so can't comment on long term reliability and use, but the winch seems strong and fit for purpose. Works well, with smooth action.

DANGEROUS piece of rubbish, rachet doesn't engage properly and the thing skipped out of tension releasing the cable.
