This microscope was great for things seen by the eye, but could not pick up on tiny microbials from dirty water, for example. My daughter was trying to use this microscope for her science fair project to see if she could find traces of dirt in water depending on which water filter she used. So, this microscope did have a strong enough lense to help us with this task. The reason why I gave it 3 stars is because it did a good job with bigger particles and because it was a sturdy build.

I like the easy way you focus the microscope and the camera seem to take good pictures for the price. The software package was of poor quality and very difficult to save and name pictures. I would give it 5 stars if the software package was usable.

I didn't like that it had a CD ROM to install the software, I tried to find the software online so my daughter could use this with her laptop. But we installed in on our home desktop.

The product looked good when I unpacked the Microscope, but to my supprise, the manufacturer placed the driver information on a 3" CD. I couldn't believe it I haven't a 3" CD in years, my Mac Superdrive play won't accept the 3" disk. I will have to go to a computer repair station and pay to transfer the info on a regular disk. Oh, and I can't find the driver information online to download it. This is not good customer service.
