Jolly good!
Loved meeting old and new characters. Didn't want it to end! Read in one sitting. Highly recommend for everyone x

Lovely book
Great new book from Jenny Colgan

Lost its charm
It was nice to hear beloved characters doing more things, but it felt rushed, done by rote, with none of the charm of the earlier books. Nothing much happened. Shame.

Never disappoints!
I always end her books sighing happily and looking for a pre order button at the end. As always, just lovely.

so very disappointing and predictable
I look forward to every new book Jenny Colgan writes, yet this is reminiscent of her earlier, not best, works. It seemed forced as if she were on a deadline or had her children home and she was obligated to just slap words on the screen. Conflict with parents over David's Englishness-check. Remaining at "posh boarding school v. returning to Scotland and working in gritty Glasgow"-check. Difficulty with communicating with David-check. Obligatory girl power, other pc themes, check. Sigh. Next time ...is there a next time? So hard to say whether this was the finale or not, since she indicated yes yet left a cliffhanger (much like Mure series)-I'll NOT preorder. Poor form, regardless. I'm falling out of love with this author, as a result. My money can go to much better, reliable and talented people, sadly.
