Every other hub I've tried like this use the same Realtek NIC with a fatal flaw (including those more expensive docking stations). If power is connected to the hub and you unplug it from the laptop, they flood your network with "pause frames" that can disrupt your entire LAN. Thankfully this Dockcase hub uses an ASIX AX88179 NIC without any of those problems.The other kicker for me was how quickly my monitor comes back out of standby now. Since I couldn't power the other hubs externally without risk of melting down the network, the process was something like: keyboard/mouse -> mac begins to wake up -> usb hub powers back on fully (wait...) -> hit the keyboard/mouse some more -> screen finally turns on. (This is especially noticeable on an M2 mac where the built in display comes on almost instantly). Now with the Dockcase remaining powered, it's hit the keyboard, wait a sec, boom monitor turns back on.But wait, there's more! The detachable USB-C means you can replace it with a longer cable if you want to hide it out of the way on a desk. Just be sure to get one that's properly rated, I'm using a 3ft Anker Powerline II gen2 good for 10Gbps & 100W. Otherwise it may "mostly" work but then your display cuts out briefly every now and then.So there ya have it, I'm one of those "don't usually write reviews" but this solved many annoyances for me. Well done!

This is the 2nd dockcase hub I own. I purchased the first one about two years ago. It performed really well with my 14'' M1 Pro Macbook pro and I never had an issue. The only gripe I have is that it doesn't come with a USB type c port for my high-speed ssd. Also, I sometimes need a LAN port for a stable internet connection which is missing in the previous model. So when I saw this new model, I placed the order immediately. After I received it, the new model really lives up to my expectation. The LAN port is solid, providing a faster and more stable connection in comparison to wifi. The transfer rate on the type-c port is also fast. And to my surprise, the hub could power one 2TB ssd, one 4TB hard drive, and 4k HDMI simultaneously without any issues, which really exceeded my expectation. In general, I'd say this should be the go-to for anyone who needs a hub with a LAN port and USB type-c port.

I was looking for a dock which was small enough to attach to the back of my phone and using in my pocket, supported PD charging, provided support for connecting to both USB-C and USB-A devices, provided HDMI output, and provided ethernet -- essentially allowing my phone to operate as a desktop. This checked all the boxes and has worked flawlessly in all my scenarios so far. Additionally it is very useful to have the little LCD display and button interface available. I will say that the UI is a bit clunky and hard to use, but does look and perform very nicely. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Great little usb hub, has lots of ports to get you out off a jam. I use it with my MacBook Pro and never have any issues. The display is an added bonus that allows me to see what the transfer rates, charging power and ethernet speed as well as the usb speed and connection type. Its build quality is top notch with the aluminium housing. Its definitely worth the money.

Super cool gadget. The display with info is very cool to see, and my laptop had no issues connecting to it. Very well built as well.
