wish someone had told me about magic water paper before. SOOOO much money saved on ink and paper. brush is pretty good quality, too. (better quality than a fancy "official" brush i purchased recently for THREE times as much as this set.) i use a felt backing underneath, like you would if using sumi ink, just in case to keep it clean. also, i think it dries faster with something more porous beneath it compared to when I was using the mat directly on the table.

Teach kids to use brush. Works surprisingly well. Will update if anything new, but so far works as described. Nice to know not wasting paper.

Pad is great--the brush was broken on arrival, though. Luckily I already had brushes, but buyer beware that the brush isn't anything special.

This is a wonderful tool for beginner and expert calligraphers. It's completely ecological, you save large amounts of paper and ink.I recommend it so much!
